Its hardware-based secure microprocessor employs integrated physical protection mechanisms to protect it from bypass attacks, external tamper, and more. This iStorage SSD makes automated attacks useless by entering the deadlock frozen state.     Tamper-evident and Tamper-proof Design

    In addition to incorporating the encryption key, secure microprocessor, and encrypting the data, the iStorage diskAshur2 SSD adds one more obstacle between a hacker and your data. All the components of your SSD feature a strong epoxy resin coating, which is very difficult to remove without affecting its components. This hurdle helps to prevent hackers from accessing the vital components and releasing a wide range of futile attacks. Moreover, if breached, the tamper-evident design of this SSD will provide obvious evidence that some type of tampering has occurred.

    Brute Force Hack Defence Mechanism

    The iStorage diskAshur2 SSD is specially designed to guard your data against all types of brute force attacks. The drive freezes if you enter incorrect PIN entries 5 times consecutively. This requires you to disconnect and reconnect the drive to the USB port to get another 5 PIN entry attempts. Furthermore, the SSD freezes again if you again enter the incorrect PIN 5 times consecutively. To get 5 final PIN attempts, you will be required to press the "shift" button whilst inserting the USB cable into the USB port and after that, you will be required to enter a preset PIN. On the 15th consecutive incorrect PIN entry, the diskAshur2 SSD locks itself after deleting the encryption key.

    The iStorage diskAshur2 SSD features a Common Criteria EAL 5+ (Hardware Certified) secure microprocessor that helps enhance security via integrated cryptography and true random number generation. The data encryption key is guarded by Common Criteria and FIPS validated wrapping algorithms. It provides security against hackers and responds against tampering with its several practical features.

    The iStorage diskAshur2 SSD can be formatted to any file format, including exFAT. However, you are recommended to back up all data stored on the drive before reformatting, as all data on the diskAshur2 SSD will get deleted during the format process.
