The Nikon EN-EL18a Battery is an ultra-lightweight lithium-Ion rechargeable battery compatible with the Nikon D4s and D5 digital SLR camera. The EN-EL18a offers a higher capacity of 2500mAh (10.8V) to support long periods of shooting and improves on the older EN-EL18 battery found inside the D4. Nikon claims the camera will last for up to 3021 frames in the single-shot mode and up to a staggering 5960 frames when set to continuous. This is a big improvement over the older EN-EL18 battery which is said to offer a 2600-shot life.
