Zero Dead Space
When designing a new travel tripod, Peak Design had the overriding thought that it needs to be more portable. With that in mind, they set out to remove as much dead space as they possibly could to make this tripod as portable as possible. They most certainly have achieved that with this tripod. By packing all the elements closer together so they fit like puzzle pieces, they have eliminated the dead space you would find on other travel tripods. This tripod is so sleek that I can pack to the diameter of a water bottle, resulting in a new use for your water bottle pocket on your rucksack!
The Ball Head
Along with a sleek tripod design, they wanted to work on the ball head as well. Unlike other tripod heads where you're left guessing which knob to turn and even when you've got the right one, you wonder how far you're supposed to turn it! Peak Design decided... "Nah". They created an all-encompassing, single adjustment ring that gives you complete movement. It's simple to use and has a smooth satisfying operation. Their locking ring, located just above, provides even more stability and reduction to any vibrations. This lock is merely a precaution; even without it, your camera will be securely locked in place.
