The Quasar Science Crossfade X50W Linear LED Tube is a 2” long and low-profile light source with a tunable range from warm 2000K to a crisp 6000K. This versatile light can be used for lighting actors or environments and can be stacked into large arrays to form LED panels. It provides efficient 3-point subject lighting to architectural accents and also traditional lighting.

Tunable White Light

This 2” long and low-profile LED tube offers a simple and broad spectrum of light output. The tunable white light has a spectrum range of 2000K to 6000K. the Crossfade blending of the Candle Light Diode (2000 K) and the Overcast Daylight Diode (6000K) creates a balanced and variable colour spectrum. The tunable light can obtain a beautifully warm characteristic or a crisp and cool characteristic.

Versatile Setup

It can be used for a 3-point lighting setup or multiple lights can be installed as architectural lighting accents. It provides versatility to be used for lighting actors or environments. The QX25 light can be used lighting general areas or stacked into large arrays or columns to create LED panels of any size. The lights can also be placed end-to-end to create a long linear source of light and can easily be mounted against a wall or on the ceiling. Its compact design enables its use in limited spaces and creates geometric or 3D patterns for creative shoot lightings.

Voltage Used

Usually, modern LED lights run on 12 VDC, which is useful on battery packs but is highly problematic when powering large scale arrays of multiple lights. The QX50W uses 120 VAC or 240 VAC so that when there is a need to cable more than 3 metres from the power source, there is no line loss to affect the output and performance of the LED lights.

The light tube provides a clean appearance and has a durable metal housing. It makes it easy to cable the light without the need for complicated wires. The wiring setup tangles around themselves and around stands, which costs time and energy for a light setup. It also does not require complicated power supplies or ballasts that add to time while setting up the light.

FAQs:

How can the colour temperature of the light be changed?

The included CCT dial can be used to adjust the light’s colour temperature. The colour temperature on the dial is shown divided by 100, ie., the dial shows 20 for 2000 K and 30 for 3000 K.

Is this crossfade lamp dimmable?

The lamp is capable of dimming down while maintaining the colour temperature and uses the TRIAC AC source for dimming. You can plug the installed P1G into an AC power wired up to a wall-dimmer switch or to a TRIAC dimmer source to dim the lamp.

What is lamp life?

The expected life lamp is up to 25000 hours.

Is it portable?

This lightweight light with a weight of 0.77 kg is easily portable by hand. It can be carried with the other camera equipment and the metal construction ensures its safety. Its compact design enables you to carry it in public transportation and can easily be set up in a limited shooting space as well.
