The system is trained on over 700,000 noise samples across 20,000 hours of data, enabling it to recognise and separate voices from more complex or sudden sounds in real time. Whilst traditional ENC mainly targets steady ambient noise, here, the system reacts to things like passing traffic or nearby voices, keeping speech clear without pushing it into an overly processed sound. It also adjusts dynamically based on the balance between voice and background noise, increasing noise reduction when voices are weaker and easing off when they are clear.

The Air SE records at 48 kHz/24-bit, delivering clear, natural-sounding audio without compression or loss of detail. The 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio keeps unwanted noise under control, so quieter speech stays clean, while a 120 dB max SPL handles louder voices without distortion. The Air SE also includes a built-in limiter and a -12 dB safety track. The limiter controls volume spikes, while the safety track records a lower-level backup alongside your main audio, providing a reliable fallback if levels spike unexpectedly. Can I control the Air SE through the Saramonic app?

Yes, the Saramonic app gives you direct control over key settings while recording. You can adjust noise cancellation strength, switch between mono, stereo and safety track modes, and apply one of the three EQ presets to shape vocal tone. It’s a straightforward setup, so once connected, you can make quick adjustments without interrupting your recording.

What devices are compatible with the Air SE?

The Air SE is designed primarily for smartphones, connecting directly via USB-C or Lightning receivers that draw power from your device. It works with recent iPhone models (from iPhone 11 onwards), most Android phones and tablets for plug-and-play recording. It also works with Mac and Windows computers, as well as selected action cameras such as the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and DJI Action 4. Direct connection to traditional cameras is not supported, so it’s best suited to mobile-first setups.

How do I power the Air SE?

The transmitters run for about 6 hours and extend up to 28 hours when topped up with the charging bar. The bar itself is powered via USB-C using the supplied cable. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach full charge. The receiver doesn’t need to be charged, as it draws power directly from your device when connected.

What is the difference between the Air SE-01 and SE-02?

The main difference comes down to what’s included in the box. The SE-01 comes with a single USB-C receiver, while the SE-02 includes both USB-C and Lightning receivers for broader compatibility with newer and older iPhones and Android devices. Aside from that, both versions use the same transmitters, charging bar, and audio features, so recording performance remains the same.

Can I use the furry windshield when the mic is handheld?

Yes, the furry windshield can be used when the mic is handheld and helps reduce wind noise outdoors. However, the transmitter won’t charge while the windshield is attached, so you’ll need to remove it when recharging.
