FAQs

Does the cage block any of the camera’s ports or controls?

No. The layout keeps the flip-out screen, battery door, card slots and top-plate controls open, so you don’t have to unmount the camera when changing cards or adjusting settings.

How secure is the three-point anti-twist lock?

Very. The cage fixes the camera using a 1/4"-20 screw and two additional locating points, so the body can’t rotate when using heavier lenses or pulling focus. A magnetic key is built in for quick tightening.

Can I use the Panasonic XLR adapters with this cage?

Yes. The design leaves space for both the DMW-XLR1 and XLR2 microphone units, which sit cleanly alongside the handle and cage structure.

How does the HawkLock top handle attach?

It slides onto the cage’s HawkLock rail and locks in with an anti-twist 3/8"-16 thumbscrew. The handle can shift side to side for balance and includes cold shoes and 1/4"-20 threads for monitors or wireless gear.

Is the cage suitable for gimbal work?

Yes. The integrated Arca-style base lets you mount the camera on compatible gimbals or tripod heads without changing plates. The aluminium build's low weight also helps balance the rig.
