Are you wondering where to sell old cameras or how much your camera is worth? Wex is here to make the process easy and rewarding. Whether you're looking to upgrade your gear, declutter your collection or simply cash in on unused equipment, we have a simple solution. Here you’ll see how it works, what options you have, what to expect during the process and why trading in or selling your old, used cameras and equipment is a great option.
Selling your camera equipment at Wex
Selling your old or used cameras with Wex is straightforward. You can choose from two options depending on your preferences and needs:
In-store trade-in:
Bring your camera equipment to any Wex store and your chosen store will get back to you within three working days with a final quote. If you're happy with the final quote, you can either take cash, store credit or part-exchange your equipment for something new. The in-store option is perfect for those who prefer a face-to-face experience and instant results. It’s also a great way to get hands-on advice on the latest gear you might want to upgrade to.
Online trade-in:
If you can’t get to a store or prefer operating from home, you can use our hassle-free online trade-in service. Once you’ve entered the details of your equipment on our simple trade-in page, you'll receive an initial estimate of its value. If you accept, we’ll arrange to collect your gear or you can drop it off at a DPD drop-off point. Once the team receives your equipment, we’ll inspect it, confirm the final value and offer you cash or credit. The entire process is designed to be simple, ensuring you get the best value without leaving your home.
How we assess equipment
If you have a camera or lens to sell then you'll no doubt want the best price for it possible. There are several factors which affect the price you're offered, including, the age, condition and demand of the product.
At Wex, we accept a variety of photographic equipment from cameras, lenses and lighting gear; in a range of conditions, from well-used to like-new. We typically accept gear that is in good working order, even if it shows cosmetic wear. If your equipment is heavily damaged or non-functional, it might not be accepted, but it’s always worth checking as we try to accommodate a wide range of conditions.
How do we asses your camera?
Once we receive your equipment, a technician will thoroughly inspect your camera gear. They look for signs of wear and tear, check the functionality of all features and ensure that everything works as it should. This careful assessment guarantees your valuation is fair and in line with every piece of kit that comes our way.
Final offer:
After we have inspected your kit, we will send you a final offer based on the condition of your gear. If you accept the offer, we’ll get your cash or credit sent to you as soon as possible. Or, if you change your mind, you can have your fear returned to you at no additional cost.
Our used and secondhand items are thoroughly assessed and graded based on physical signs of wear and level of use.
