The Vanguard VEO MT-12 Horizontal Arm provides a wide range of options to mount four items onto a single tripod system. This will actively enhance your production workflow, as you only need to transport one tripod with you to set. It is fully compatible with any tripod with either a 3/8" thread or 1/4" thread (adaptor provided).

Should you mount this horizontal arm to a tripod head or direct to the tripod itself?

For the best results, the manufacturer recommends mounting this horizontal arm atop a tripod head. This will maximise control over lighting equipment, microphones, and cameras that are mounted onto the arm.

What would be a good example of a camera setup supported by this Vanguard mounting accessory?

With 4 distinct mounting sections, you are able to customise this mounting system to suit your individual requirements. An example of this would be mounting 2 central camera systems with different lenses, whilst implementing an LED light to one side and a small monitor to the other.

Does this support vertical shooting?

Both ends of the arm have a reversible 3/8” thread that can convert to a 1/4” thread, which allows you to then mount a head (sold separately) on one end to allow for vertical shooting.

Can you shift the horizontal arm left to right?

You are able to shift the arm from left to right, but this will have an adverse effect on the tripod’s centre of gravity. Be sure to balance out the horizontal arm before letting go of the tripod.
