The AP-555 has been designed for use with Nikon's 400mm f/2.8 FL VR, 600mm f/4.0 FL VR and 800mm f/5.6 FL VR lenses. It will replace the stock foot on the rotation collar and because of the longer length; it will be better balanced with smaller DSLR camera bodies than the stock Nikon foot. Additionally, Wimberley lens plates are compatible with most Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamps on the market which makes them a versatile option.
