The Secacam 1 uses a 3MP sensor with large pixels that prioritise sensitivity, especially at night. During the day, it delivers sharp, natural-looking colour images, while at night the 940nm no-glow infrared system produces bright, high-contrast black-and-white images. The 16:9 image format helps capture whole animals rather than cropped frames. Video recording is available up to Full HD, with transmission currently at 480p.

How does the Secacam 1 perform at night without disturbing wildlife?

The camera uses ZEISS IR Boost Technology with 940nm infrared LEDs, which are invisible to animals and humans. Why doesn’t the ZEISS Secacam 1 use an SD card?

The Secacam 1 uses integrated 32GB internal memory to improve reliability and security. This avoids problems caused by damaged or poorly seated SD cards and reduces the risk of unauthorised data removal. Files can be accessed remotely through the app or copied locally using a USB-C thumb drive formatted in FAT32.

Can I use existing ZEISS Secacam accessories with this model?

Yes. With the exception of the metal housing, accessories designed for the ZEISS Secacam 3 are compatible with the Secacam 1. This includes mounts, power solutions, and security accessories, making it easy to expand or adapt your setup over time.
