New BLAIR Chipset For High-Quality and Colour Accuracy

Aputure’s new BLAIR chipset in the STORM 1200x ensures high brightness and colour accuracy for the best results. The five-colour (Blue/Lime/Amber/Indigo/Red) light engine better fills out the colour spectrum and enables improved customisation. It ensures a higher quality white light that makes a more suitable match for natural daylight and black body sources such as tungsten quartz. The BLAIR light engine also enables a CCT range of 2,500K to 10,000K, larger than traditional bicolours.

The STORM 1200x also has incredibly high colour accuracy, offering a CRI≥95, TLCI≥95, CQS [CIE D5600]≥96, SSI [P3200] of 87 at 3,200K, SSI [CIE D5600] of 87 at 5600K, TM-30 Rf (average) 95, and TM-30 Rg (average) 100. When using the Wide-Angle Reflector included with the light, it also reaches an impressive 22,500 Lux @3m at 5600K.

Advanced Technology for Stunning Performance

Incorporating advanced technology, the Aputure STORM 1200x offers impressive functionality for industry professionals. Advanced dimming technology enables flicker-free and colour-accurate operation even at the lowest power output level of <60lux @1m (5,600K). It also offers an unprecedented 0.1-100% stepless brightness control for complete creative freedom. There are also four dimming curves, Linear, Exponential, Logarithmic, and S-shaped, for more specific control.

The STORM 1200x is also the first light of its kind to offer advanced white point control with green-magenta colour correction (±G 100% full ASC MITC range), to achieve the high levels of flexibility and colour accuracy required on set.

ProLock Locking Bowens Accessory Mount

The Aputure STORM 1200x is equipped with the ProLock Locking Bowens Mount, which enables more secure attachment of light modifiers to provide peace of mind on set. The clamping design offers improved stability and durability and ensures modifiers that require precision remain firmly in place and maintain alignment with the light engine. The ProLock Mount is compatible with Aputure’s three new reflectors, two of which are available separately in the Aputure STORM 1200x Reflector Kit and standard Bowen’s mount accessories.

Designed for Demanding Working Environments

Thanks to an IP65 dust and weather-resistant rating, the Aputure STORM 1200x can be used on even the most demanding sets. Seals on every connector and around the components ensure you can use the lamp head and the control box outside, whatever the weather conditions. Whether shooting in rainy conditions or on a sunny day, the performance of the STORM 1200x will not be impacted.
