Betso Sharkie Active Antenna
The SHARKIE is a compact, wideband UHF, active receiver antenna with a log-periodic dipole Array (LPDA) structure and cardioid directivity. Its extremely low noise amplifier with an easy gain setting is ideal for variable coaxial cable length attenuation compensation in the field. Its rock-solid mechanical construction guarantees careless functionality both indoors and outdoors.

Expanded Betso Sharkie Active Antenna Key Features:
Ultra low noise onboard amplifier with gain from - 9 dB to + 18 dB
The inbuilt ultra-low noise amplifier allows antenna usage in situations with variable coaxial cable lengths from the antenna to the receiver device. Higher attenuation of longer cables can be easily compensated by increasing gain, while in situations with very short cables and strong receiving signal zero or even negative gain assures not to overshoot the input dynamic range of the receiver. The amplifier can be easily adjusted to any value between -9 and + 18 dB in a step of 1 dB. A Voltage Standing Wave Ratio of less than 1.2 ensures great signal power reception. A very high Third-order Intercept Point IP3 >34 dBm provides great linearity. The industry-leading ultra-low-noise amplifier IC has a noise figure of 0.75 dB.
High efficient input filters for removing unwanted RF spectrum
The Sharkie high efficient input filters help prevent receivers' intermodulation with other sources in the band outside the main working range of wireless systems like walkie-talkies, FM radios, wireless focus systems, WiFi and Bluetooth devices, mobile phones, etc. The performance of the wireless system will be better with fewer dropouts.
Plug and work
The preset value of the onboard amplifier gain is displayed on the Built-in seven-segment LED display upon power on, and if required, it keeps displaying for permanent readouts. The display also has an automatic brightness setting feature, which adjusts its brightness according to the actual ambient light condition, avoiding unacceptable situations such as the display shining everywhere in dark places or the gain value being unreadable in direct sunlight. This automatic brightness feature can be disabled by setting of fixed brightness value or the display can be completely turned off while the amplifier keeps working. In this mode, any button press will temporally power on the display for possibility of changing the settings or just for preset gain readout.
Top build quality
The lightened antenna structure is made of glass-reinforced epoxy laminate, covering all possibly fragile elements and ensuring great durability in everyday use. The amplifier is made of CNC-milled aluminium alloy and is sealed for great water-resistant performance.
Powering
The antenna can be powered externally through a coaxial cable from a power source of 5 - 20 V DC. Professional hardware design with best-in-class integrated circuits results in extremely low power consumption, which will be a big plus for your shooting rig's performance.
