The BirdDog 4K 12G-SDI NDI Encoder/Decoder is capable of supporting up to UHD 4K/60 video input for uncompromised distribution over NDI networks in full-bandwidth I-frame compression. Based around BirdDog's industry-leading custom NDI silicon chip, this compact device further features a 12G-SDI input, as well as 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 individual outputs. The in-built cross converter then allows the SDI input to be looped out via the accessible HDMI output. By utilising the SFP+ expansion slot, this Encoder system is capable of supporting SFP+ modules for full fibre connectivity and Ethernet protocols from 1-10GbE. What are the available network connectivity options with this BirdDog Encoder/Decoder?
You are given the option of three key network connections, which include Ethernet RJ45 1000baseT with integrated PoE, open SFP+ Cage (10GB SFP+ adapters available separately), and via an embedded web configuration panel.
Are additional cables required for external interface support?
This BirdDog Encoder/Decoder does require additional cables to support USB to RJ45 for additional network in device support, USB to RJ45 for VISCA over IP PTZ control, USB to Serial PTZ control (RS-232), and USB ISO recording.
How does Comms Lite software enhance an expansive PTZ system?
The included Comms Lite software is compatible with Windows 10 and above. It allows you to group up to four BirdDog devices together within four live-view windows, granting access to a vast range of key PTZ functions. This includes Director Push to Talk, Director to All, BirdDog to Director, and Mute Camera Operator commands. You can also monitor camera audio, auto-detect NDI sources, and tinker with the volume sidebar to suit the production.

Buy now pay later
The Buy Now Pay Later option comprises a 36 month loan following a six month deferral period.
During the six-month deferral period, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is partially repaid within six months, the remaining interest will be adjusted to reflect the new balance. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, however, a £29 early settlement fee is payable in respect of repayments within these six months.
Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 18.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Novuna Personal Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six-month deferral period is due to elapse.
