The BirdDog Eyes A300 is a seriously extreme piece of kit. It is an IP67 weatherproof NDI 1080p PTZ camera that has wind-load durability of 134mph and can even withstand a category 4 hurricane (when secured properly). The A300 is tailor-made to deal with any and all weather conditions and suited to the majority of outdoor applications. You are afforded a lightning-fast 30x optical zoom and autofocus, powerful Sony 1/2.8" CMOS backlit 2.13MP image sensor, BirdDog's own custom NDI silicon chip, and an in-built infrared laser (500m range) for focusing in low-light conditions. The A300 guarantees broadcast-quality imagery, secured within a corrosion-resistant and nitrogen-filled exterior housing with a built-in rain wiper. What really sets BirdDog PTZ systems apart is their visually lossless full NDI variable bit-rate iFrame codec - reaching up to 140 Mb/s at 1080p60. The A300 excels in such a range of image-making environments due to its impressive broadcast-quality visuals. The combination of the Sony 1/2.8" CMOS backlit 2.13MP image sensor and the BirdDog custom NDI chip, are further backed up by lightning-fast autofocus and quick-action 30x optical zoom. Therefore, this PTZ system can still capture bright, dynamic, and clear images in even the worst weather conditions. To assist with accurate focusing, the A300 incorporates an intuitive infrared laser with a 500m range to be used in low-light conditions. The NDI chip is capable of 140 Mb/s at 1080p60 - allowing for the BirdDog PTZ system to guarantee high-end imagery whatever the occasion. As well as this, you are granted full access to 360° continuous pan rotation, 120° tilt, and an efficient 150°/s preset movement speed.

NDI Explained

NDI (Network Device Interface) is a variable bit rate iFrame codec, capable of 140 Mb/s at 1080p60. It is also a visually lossless connection, which is quite rare for PTZ camera systems as they stereotypically take from security cameras with NDI|HX - a compressed, long-GOP, H.264 variant reaching 12Mb/s at 1080p60. To simplify, this means that you are provided with broadcast-quality visuals from this high-end IP67 Extreme Weatherproof PTZ system. The A300 is further capable of simultaneous NDI and SDI outputs for live recording within a full NDI workflow. This makes the A300 a truly futureproof PTZ camera, as you can still utilise an SDI workflow controlled via RS422 or RS485 - before converting to NDI when you are ready. The A200 is also compatible with PELCO-D and VISCA protocols, as well as having the ability to encode and decode Full YUV 4:2:2 NDI.

With an in-built rain wiper, you can rely on your BirdDog PTZ system to follow fast-paced sporting events, for permanent instillation outside, and the A300 even has the ability to work in pretty much any environment on the planet - constructed for inverted mounting via compatible mounts (see below). You can easily and efficiently mount your A300 PTZ system in areas where it would not be viable for a camera operator to stand (especially in extreme weather) - gaining a wider view of the action. BirdDog Comms Lite

The A300 comes equipped with BirdDog Comms Lite audio intercom software. This supports up to four BirdDog devices, and is a Windows-compatible application that offers key features to include auto-detect NDI sources, mute camera operator, director push to talk, monitor camera audio, and shortcut to Web console. If you require a more advanced/complete version of Comms Lite, an upgrade is available (optional). Further to this, you are granted full access to BirdDog Central software, which aids you in decoding NDI back to HDMI or SDI.

World-Class Pairing with the PTZ Keyboard

The BirdDog PTZ Keyboard controller pairs perfectly with the A300. You are granted full control of your camera's functions remotely, with the controller having the capacity to control up to 255 PTZ cameras on a single network. That's right, 225. It can even scale to match the most complex installations, controlling the P200 over either NDI or by RS422 / RS232 when utilising SDI mode.
