Blackmagic ATEM Mini PRO ISO

The Blackmagic ATEM Mini PRO ISO is physically identical to the Blackmagic ATEM Mini PRO, but with some new groundbreaking features that are set to make your live production workflow as efficient and smooth as possible. Unlike the previous model, the ATEM Mini PRO ISO features 5 individual built-in recorders, which means not only can you record your program output to disk, you can simultaneously record each of your HDMI inputs as an H.264 .mp4 file. As well as this, it'll also record a WAV file for every audio track. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Mini Pro ISO is recording everything you're doing - transitions, fading or using graphics - and building a real-time timeline that is directly saved into a DaVinci Resolve project file. It will show every decision that was made during the live show and allows you to adjust any mistake changes for future sharing of your show.

The ISO

What separates the ISO version from the standard Pro is the use of five individual built-in recorders which means you can record your program output to disk, while simultaneously record each of your HDMI inputs as an H.264 .mp4 file. The Upgrades

The Pro version of the Blackmagic ATEM Mini builds on the foundations of the standard version, but with added controls and software features. The Pro ISO version allows you to stream video up to 1080p HD as well as offering support, control for and tally light control for the BMPCC 6K and 4K cameras. Physically, there's now quick stream, on-air and record buttons, and a hardware encoder that removes the need for additional streaming software as well as a MultiDock for live hard drive switching. In addition to this, there's an improved H.264 codec for higher-quality output and customised advanced settings with XML files.

Intuitive Transition Control

Enhancing your live stream is a range of intuitive and creative transition controls. There are five main transitions that the ATEM Mini Pro ISO provides including: ‘Cut' which will instantly switch to another video source, ‘Mix' which can be used to dissolve and gradually transition to another source, and ‘Dip' that is similar to mix in that it'll provide a gradual blend to another source using either a solid colour, graphic, or another clip. There's also ‘Wipe', which sweeps a customisable pattern (circles, diamonds, squares etc.) across the frame, and finally DVE. DVE, or Digital Video Effects, allow you to use creative transitions between sources e.g. spin, squeeze or swoosh.

Upstream/Downstream

The Pro features both upstream/downstream keyers that allow you to layer different live video sources or graphics over one and another using the Upstream Keyer. You're able to make use of the luma key, linear key, pattern key, or use a green screen with the chroma key to layer over virtual sets. Then there's the Downstream keyer. This keyer, which is part of the ATEM Mini switcher, is used to add high-quality graphics including logos and titles from the built-in media player over live stream program output. This is the last layer of keying which means these graphics overlay other video switched to the main program output.

Audio-Wise

Another feature of this unit is the built-in audio mixer. This mixer enables the control of your camera and all six available audio inputs and two channels, with precise control level and balance. It features user-selectable On/Off/Audio-Follow-Video options per channel as well as gain control, level and peak metering. Finally, this unit features new Fairlight audio enhancements that offer compressor, gate, limiter, six bands of parametric EQ, and master gain control.
