Expanded Blackmagic DeckLink IP 100G Key Features:
High-Density 2110 IP broadcast integration
DeckLink IP 100G is engineered for demanding broadcast environments that require seamless integration with SMPTE ST2110 networks. It supports up to eight channels of simultaneous HD and Ultra HD video capture and playback, conforming to ST2110-20 for uncompressed video, ST2110-30 for audio, and ST2110-40 for ancillary data. Each channel operates independently, making it suitable for multi-stream production setups, real-time graphics generation, or GPU-accelerated AI video processing — all over standard 2110 IP infrastructure. With support for precision synchronisation via PTP, this card ensures reliable timing across complex broadcast systems.
Built for performance-critical broadcast systems
With a PCIe Gen 4 interface and dual 100G QSFP ports, DeckLink IP 100G delivers substantial data throughput to support high-frame-rate Ultra HD over IP. The dual-port design enables either full redundancy or dual-switch connections for increased network resilience. To meet bandwidth demands at higher resolutions such as 2160p60, the onboard IP10 codec compresses video with only 8 samples of latency, while maintaining compatibility with downstream 10G-based systems. This codec is implemented in FPGA with minimal resource usage, allowing reliable performance without inflating system complexity or cost.
Low-latency GPU acceleration with GPUDirect RDMA
One of the standout features is support for GPUDirect RDMA, which enables direct memory transfers between DeckLink IP 100G and compatible GPUs. This minimises PCIe bandwidth use and dramatically reduces processing latency — ideal for live grading, real-time visual effects, and colour correction. Video bypasses CPU bottlenecks and reaches the GPU with significantly lower overhead, making it highly suitable for systems that rely on fast, frame-accurate processing such as virtual sets or automated vision-based tasks.
Broadcast-grade video format support
DeckLink IP 100G supports a wide array of professional video formats, including Apple ProRes, DNxHD, and 10-bit uncompressed video. Operating in 10-bit ensures quadruple the colour precision of standard 8-bit, which is critical for maintaining the integrity of chroma keying, VFX layering, and professional-grade colour correction. SD, HD, and Ultra HD formats are supported across all channels, including 720p, 1080i, 1080p and up to 2160p60. Each input and output channel can be configured with its own resolution and frame rate, with instant format switching via the DeckLink SDK or Desktop Video Utility.
Secure, isolated video transport system
Security is a key concern in IP-based video systems, and DeckLink IP 100G addresses this with a frame buffer-based system that isolates video traffic from the host system's network interface. This design prevents unauthorised access from software or network sources, functioning as a hardware-level barrier between the 2110 IP network and the computer. All video and audio data is routed through dedicated buffers, ensuring that only intended content is processed and transferred. This makes the card a reliable choice for broadcasters requiring robust protection against rogue software or external threats in mission-critical IP production environments.

FAQs:
Is the Blackmagic DeckLink IP 100G compatible with popular video editing and streaming software?
Blackmagic’s DeckLink IP 100G supports a wide range of editing, grading, and streaming applications. It works seamlessly with DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, and VFX platforms like Fusion and After Effects. Streaming compatibility includes Open Broadcaster, Wirecast, and XSplit on both macOS and Windows. This means users can continue working with familiar software while moving to 2110 IP infrastructure.
Does the Blackmagic DeckLink IP 100G require specialised hardware or drivers to operate?
The Blackmagic DeckLink IP 100G connects via standard PCIe Gen 4 and is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux systems. It comes with a Windows WDM driver and Blackmagic’s Desktop Video SDK, so users can quickly integrate it into custom or other workstations. The onboard cooling system ensures reliability under heavy loads without the need for additional thermal management solutions.
What kind of development support is available for the DeckLink IP 100G?
Blackmagic provides a free software development kit (SDK) for Mac, Windows, and Linux, designed to support both low-level hardware control and high-level application integration. The SDK is widely used by broadcast manufacturers and allows developers to create tailored capture, playout, and processing applications. Whether for internal systems or commercial software, the SDK helps ensure long-term support and flexibility.
How does DeckLink IP 100G handle audio over IP?
The card conforms to SMPTE ST2110-30, which standardises uncompressed audio transport over IP. This ensures high fidelity, low-latency audio synchronisation across all channels. DeckLink IP 100G supports multi-channel audio per video stream, and the data is managed separately from video and ancillary streams, as defined in the ST2110 standard.
