Fujifilm's XF10-24mm F4 R OIS WR Lens builds of the success of its predecessor. Fujifilm has implemented a range of improvements which elevate the lens in image quality and usability. The lens is constructed from 14 glass lens elements in 10 groups including, 4 Aspherical & 4 extra-low dispersion element. This intelligent design helps to produce the best possible image with edge-to-edge sharpness and reduced chromatic aberrations, ghosting and flare. The lens has been redesigned to allow enhanced usability which includes an f-stop scale on the aperture ring and an aperture-position lock. The O.I.S has been improved by a full stop, allowing for 3.5 stops of image stabilisation and when paired with Fujifilm bodies such as the X-T4, you'll get a full 6.5 stops of stabilisation. Finally, for those who do not like the weather to limit creativity, Fujifilm has updated the lens with a new weather-resistant structure.

Increased Usability

Fujifilm has upgraded this version of the XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS WR in many ways. The lens sees a more sleek and stylish design with the focus and zoom rings having been reduced in size. The lens now has added weather-resistance from both dust and moisture which enables you to use this lens more freely even when the weather turns. Furthermore, the lens will now operate fully in temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius. Finally, Fujifilm has updated the aperture ring with an f-stop scale and auto-position lock. Both of these additions help you shoot more efficiently - The f-stop scale allows you to visually check your lens aperture without having to look through the EVF or at the LCD, and the auto-position lock helps prevent accidental aperture ring movements whilst shooting.

Improved O.I.S

Another feature that has seen improvement over the first edition of this lens is the optical image stabilisation. Fujifilm has equipped the XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS WR with an enhanced gyro sensor that improves on the lens' image stabilisation by a full stop; boosting it to 3.5 stops. Thanks to this upgrade, when you use this lens with a current X-series camera, like the X-T4 body, together they'll achieve an incredibly stable 6.5 stops of 5-axis image stabilisation.

Optical Construction

Another area of improvement is the optical performance and lens construction. The new lens construction is built from 14 glass elements in 10 groups, including four aspherical elements and four extra-low dispersion elements. By using aspherical elements, Fujifilm has reduced the appearance of spherical aberrations, field curvature and distortion. The extra-low dispersion elements will correct chromatic aberration and help capture enhanced edge-to-edge sharpness. Furthermore, this lens will also maintain a maximum f4 aperture throughout the entire focal range. Finally, this may be a super-wide-angle lens but ti also has a minimum working distance of just 24cm, which means that you can use this lens to capture macro-style photography.
