The Godox AD800Pro Witstro Flash Head is an 800W battery-powered monolight with TTL, high-speed sync, and a Bowens mount, designed for photographers who need a full-scale kit without moving to a mains-powered pack-and-head setup. It has the reach to hold its own in bright sun, yet still gives you tight control over power, colour consistency, and flash duration, making it just as useful for location portraits as fast commercial studio work.

FAQs
Is the Godox AD800Pro mainly for outdoor use, or does it also work in the studio?
The battery design and 800W output make it especially strong outdoors, where you may need enough power to shape light in direct sun or work away from mains power. In the studio, the same output gives you room to use larger modifiers or stop down for product and commercial work. The Bowens mount also helps, because it drops straight into the kind of modifier setup many studio photographers already own.
How much control do I get over flash power and colour consistency?
You will get a very broad 10-stop output range, from 1/1 down to 1/512, in 0.1-stop increments, so fine adjustment is one of the AD800Pro’s strengths. This feature makes a real difference when you are balancing flash against ambient light or trying to keep exposure changes small and repeatable. Godox also includes a stable colour-temperature mode that keeps variation within ±100 K across the power range. That is useful for any catalogue, product, or work where consistency matters across a sequence.
Can the AD800Pro handle fast action, or is it more of a portrait flash?
It can do both. For portraits and general editorial work, the recycle speed and TTL support already make it quick to work with, but the flash duration range gives it greater reach. In freeze mode, it goes as short as 1/35,710 second, which is fast enough for water, motion studies, and other subjects that need crisp stopping power. It also supports high-speed sync up to 1/8000 second, which helps in outdoor conditions when you want to keep the shutter speed high and still use flash.
What is the AD800Pro battery life?
Godox rates it for around 300 full-power flashes from the included 28.8V 2900mAh lithium-ion battery. In practice, that number is most useful as a reference point because many photographers do not fire every shot at full output. If you are working at moderate power levels, you will generally get through more frames than that figure suggests. The battery is detachable, charges in about two hours, and can be charged faster with the optional UC46 power adapter.
How does the wireless system fit into a multi-light Godox setup?
The AD800Pro uses Godox’s 2.4 GHz X system with 16 groups, 32 channels, and 99 IDs, so it integrates into lighting arrangements with minimal trouble. You can control it with Godox transmitters such as the X3, X2T, XPro II, or XPro series, and the head can also work alongside other Godox on-camera, outdoor, and studio lights. The coloured group display is a small detail, but on a busy set, it makes identifying individual heads much easier.
