Stunning Visuals

Building off from the award-winning X1D, Hasselblad have outdone themselves with the X2D 100C. It features a Back-Side Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor that reduces noise, eliminates colour casts when moving the camera and improves quantum efficiency of incoming signal-higher sensitivity. This BSI sensor can take massive 100MP stills with a 15-stop dynamic range and ISO range of 64 up to 25600.

Photographers needing superior colour accuracy can rely on the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS), which delivers highly accurate, natural colours without the need to fiddle around with pre-sets. The camera’s 16-bit colour depth ensures smoother tonal transitions and film-like image quality.

Crystal-Clear Images

Always capture sharp images with accurate focusing thanks to Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and In-Body Image Stabilisation (IBIS). The X2D 100C has 896 PDAF points in the sensor that are grouped into 294 zones for fast and accurate focusing. It allows MF to accurately display which way to turn for focus, whilst the PDAF pixels can determine which way to drive the lens. PDAF also supports single-shot autofocus and assisted manual focus.

The IBIS featured in this camera is an in-house designed unit so it reaches the high specification required by Hasselblad. It is the world’s smallest digital MF 5-axis 7-stop IBIS unit, which fits well into the compact but capable build of this medium format camera. To provide shake-free images, the IBIS unit is capable of vertical and horizontal shift, yaw, roll and pitch. The IBIS unit also works with lenses outside of Hasselblad's XCD range.

Adaptable Viewing Options

Get the information you need and the perfect view of your shot with multiple displays and viewing options. The improved EVF has a 0.5-inch OLED display with a 5.76 million dot resolution and 24-bit colour. It shows the whole image with a 100% viewing area, has 1.0x magnification and even has electric refractive error correction so you’ll always get a clear image.

The back of the camera sports a 3.6-inch tilting rear display with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels and 24-bit colour. It has a tilt range of 0-70 degrees and click stops at 40° and 70°. This camera also features a new 1.08-inch LCD colour display on the shoulder of the camera for quickly reviewing vital information. It can display shooting parameters, frames remaining and battery levels.

Unprecedented Connectivity

Instantly share your images, and even capture images, to mobile devices and laptops. The camera itself has dual-band 2.4/5Ghz Wi-Fi and is capable of Wi-Fi 6 connections. For wired connectivity, the camera body has a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port that supports 10Gbps transmission rates. As well as the internal 1TB SSD storage, photographers can also shoot and share on CFexpress Type-B Cards.

Thanks to the USB-C connection, tethered shooting is possible when using the Phocus Desktop or Phocus Mobile 2 applications, increasing the productivity of your workflow. With a Wi-Fi 6 connection, you can even capture and send High-Speed Wireless Raw images straight to your laptop or mobile device.

Can you use flash units with the X2D 100C?

The following flash units are compatible with the X2D 100C: Profoto A1, B1 and B2; and Nikon SB-300, SB-500, SB-700, SB-900 and SB-910. Other third-party flash units are still in need of testing.

What is the difference between the X2D 100C and its predecessors?

The X2D 100C improves on the X1D 50C and X1D II 50C in numerous ways. It has a higher burst rate at 3.3fps, a much higher EVF resolution at 5.76MP, features a tilting display and image stabilisation, has far more AF points (896 in 294 zones compared to 117), and includes 1TB internal storage.

What lenses can I use with the X2D 100C?

How do I use the Phocus Desktop and Phocus Mobile apps?

Phocus Desktop is compatible with macOS 10.15 or later and Windows 7 64-bit or later. The Phocus Mobile 2 app is compatible with iPad and iPhone X or later running iOS 14.0 or later. The mobile app is not compatible with Android devices.
