X2D 100C Camera

The Hasselblad X2D 100C features innovative improvements over the X1Ds that make this camera a high-end wonder. This medium format mirrorless camera has a powerful 100MP Back-Side Illuminated CMOS sensor that reduces noise and improves overall image quality. The BSI sensor can capture stunning stills with a 15-stop dynamic range and ISO range of 64 up to 25600. Photographers needing superior colour accuracy can rely on the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS), which delivers highly accurate, natural colours without the need for pre-sets.

The X2D 100C also sports In-Body Image Stabilisation and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) ensures images are sharp and have accurate focusing. An improved EVF provides a 0.5-inch OLED display with 5.76 million dot resolution and 24-bit colour, whilst the back of the camera gas a 3.6-inch tilting rear display with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels and 24-bit colour. With other features, such as internal SSD storage and a tilting display, the X2D is a compact but powerful tool.

XCD 4/21 Lens

The XCD 4/21 is a 21mm ultra wide-angle lens for the X System. Its extremely short focal length provides a 17mm full frame equivalent lens, making it perfect for landscape and architectural photography. The lens features a 32cm close distance setting (1:10 image scale) and an aperture range between f4 and f32.

The XCD 4/21 also features full automatic focusing as well as instant manual focus. As part of the X System lens range, its lightweight and compact size perfectly complements the compact X2D body. Like the other XCD lenses, the XCD 4/21 lens has an integral central shutter offering a wide range of shutter speeds and full flash synchronisation up to 1/2000th second.

XCD 4/45P Lens

The Hasselblad 4/45P Lens is yet another fantastic lens from the optical specialists at Hasselblad. Which a narrow and compact form and weighing in at just 320g, this lens is the world's lightest digital medium format autofocus lens. It's constructed from nine elements in seven groups, which includes two aspherical elements, and exudes the build quality and performance we have come to expect from Hasselblad products. This is perfect for a travelling photographer but thanks to its superior optical design, it is suitable for a wide range of subjects from documentary to food photography.

Can you use flash units with the X2D 100C?

The following flash units are compatible with the X2D 100C: Profoto A1, B1 and B2; and Nikon SB-300, SB-500, SB-700, SB-900 and SB-910. Other third-party flash units are still in need of testing.

What is the difference between the X2D 100C and its predecessors?

The X2D 100C improves on the X1D 50C and X1D II 50C in numerous ways. It has a higher burst rate at 3.3fps, a much higher EVF resolution at 5.76MP, features a tilting display and image stabilisation, has far more AF points (896 in 294 zones compared to 117), and includes 1TB internal storage.

How big is the camera?

The X2D 100C is a compact, medium format camera that only weighs 790g and measures 148.5 x 106 x 74.5mm.

What lenses can I use with the X2D 100C?

This camera is built for XCD lenses - including the XCD 4/21 and XCD 4/45P lenses bundled with the camera. It is also compatible with all H system lenses, and V system and XPan lenses when using XV or XPan lens adapters.
