What’s new?

The Insta360 X6 succeeds the X5 with larger dual 1/1.1-inch square sensors that provide 1-inch 360 imaging through a 33% larger sensor area. Combined with a new Triple AI Chip architecture, consisting of a 4nm 8-core CPU and two dedicated imaging processors, the camera performs real-time denoising, colour calibration, image processing, stitching and stabilisation while recording native 8K50fps 360° video. The expanded imaging system also introduces native Dolby Vision recording alongside 10-bit colour and I-Log for greater grading flexibility.

The camera introduces Replaceable Lenses 2.0 with a stronger, more scratch-resistant structure and simpler replacement, together with a brighter 1200-nit OLED display featuring Full-Screen Press control. Battery capacity increases to 2600mAh, providing up to 140 minutes of 8K30fps recording, faster charging and reliable operation down to -20°C. These updates extend the X series with higher image quality, greater processing capability and longer recording endurance.

Dual 1/1.1-inch sensors and triple AI processing

The Insta360 X6 combines dual 1/1.1-inch square sensors with a Triple AI Chip Architecture comprising a 4nm 8-core CPU and two dedicated imaging chips. Together, they create 1-inch 360 imaging with a sensor area 33% larger than the X5, capturing more light for greater detail, improved low-light performance and richer overall image quality. The processors perform real-time denoising, colour calibration, stitching and stabilisation as footage is recorded, enabling native 8K50fps 360° video while reducing the need for processing during post-production. Increased processing efficiency also lowers power consumption, helping the camera maintain consistent performance during high-resolution recording.

Three shooting modes in one body

Combining three recording modes in a single camera removes the need to switch between dedicated devices for different types of capture. It captures immersive 8K 360° video, records conventional wide-angle action footage in Single-Lens Mode at up to 5K60fps or 4K120fps, and produces automatically framed 4K flat video using InstaFrame 2.0. AI Director and Auto Edit 2.0 further support faster editing by analysing recorded footage before automatically applying framing, camera movement, cuts, transitions and music to produce finished edits with minimal manual adjustment.

Professional colour and HDR recording

With the ability to record in 10-bit colour, the X6 captures over 1.07 billion colours for smoother tonal transitions and greater colour precision across each frame. It is also the first 360° camera to support native Dolby Vision recording in-camera, applying frame-by-frame HDR optimisation to preserve detail across bright highlights and deep shadows while producing more accurate colour on compatible displays.

AdaptiveTone 2.0 further enhances image quality by analysing the full brightness range of each scene before processing, balancing highlights and shadows to retain detail across high-contrast scenes. For users who prefer to colour grade their footage, the I-Log profile retains a wider tonal range, providing greater flexibility when adjusting exposure, contrast and colour during post-production.

Built for demanding conditions

Weighing approximately 195g, the Insta360 X6 remains compact while offering waterproofing to depths of 20 metres without requiring an additional housing. Replaceable Lenses 2.0 feature a stronger, more scratch-resistant construction and are simpler to replace while costing up to 60% less than the previous generation, making the X6 better suited to frequent outdoor and underwater use.

The integrated 2600mAh Xtreme battery provides up to 140 minutes of recording at 8K30fps. It supports fast charging to approximately 80% in 24 minutes or a full charge in around 35 minutes when used with a compatible 30W PPS charger. It is also rated to operate in temperatures from -20°C to 40°C, maintaining reliable recording across both cold winter conditions and warmer environments.

Display and storage

A bright OLED touchscreen reaches up to 1200 nits, maintaining clear visibility when recording outdoors. Full-Screen Press control uses an integrated pressure sensor so recording can begin or end by pressing anywhere on the display, simplifying operation when wearing gloves or using the camera one-handed. The X6 includes 64GB of built-in storage alongside microSD expansion up to 1TB using recommended UHS-I V30 cards.

Essentials bundle accessories

The Essentials Bundle includes accessories that support longer recording sessions and greater flexibility straight out of the box. An Extra Xtreme Battery extends available shooting time, while the Fast Charge Case provides a convenient way to recharge batteries between sessions.
