Two-piece Camera Cage with a Modular Design

The modular camera cage for the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini 12K/4.6K/4K cinema camera is a two-piece, aluminium cage to protect the camera against impact and drops. It consists of a top and a side plate, either of which can be mounted independently of the rest. The cage provides handheld functionality, camera protection, and multiple accessory mounts to create a full cinema setup with your camera. The top plate of the cage features a dual NATO rail for the attachment of a top handle and other accessories, a magnetic tool set storage space, a bubble level to ensure that the camera remains balanced, and multiple threaded holes for accessory attachment. It is also compatible with the Blackmagic URSA viewfinder. The side plate of the cage features multiple ¼”-20 and ARRI-standard ⅜”-16 threads for anti-twist accessories, a relocated rosette, dual NATO rails, and a cold shoe mount. The included Gold mount battery plate can be mounted onto the back of the camera to provide a high-capacity slot for the Gold mount battery to power the rig.

Trigger Top Handle for Camera Recording

The trigger top handle features a remote trigger start/stop button to control the camera recordings with a LANC cable. It makes the cage compatible with a wide variety of camera models including those of Panasonic, JVC, Z Cam, Sony, Canon, and others. Other than the cage, the handle also provides multiple accessory attachment points, such as five ⅜”-16 threaded holes with ARRI locator pins, over eighteen ¼”-20 hole options, a cold shoe mount, and a 15 mm rod support for connecting monitors or EVF. Made from aluminium, the handle provides a comfortable and ergonomic grip design for easy portability. It uses the NATO rails to mount on top of the cage.

Bridge Plate and 15 mm Rod Support

The kit includes a 15 mm ARRI bridge plate, featuring a quick-release ARRI-standard dovetail plate, multiple tripod and accessory mounting threads, and standard 15 mm LWS rod ports. The two rods measure up to 12 inches in length and can be combined via threaded ends. You can mount two rosette arms onto the rod block to create a handheld shoulder rig. The rubber handgrips can be attached to the ends of extension arms which can be rotated and extended for comfortable handheld operation. The rods feature PPSh cutouts throughout and the aluminium construction makes them durable and lightweight. Each rod can be used to support various accessories like servo motors, battery mounts, follow focus systems, lens supports, and more.
