Magnification

Unlike most macro lenses on the market which reproduces a 1:1 magnification, the Laowa 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro Lens has as power 2:1 maximum magnification - That provides you with a 2x magnification of your subject which is amazing for capturing a glimpse of insects or small plants.

As well as this, the lens has a minimum focusing distance of 13.5cm and a working distance of 5.5cm, so not only will you capture a 2x magnified image, you can get super-close to your subject, too.

Lens Construction

This lens has an advanced and complex lens structure which is how the lens can achieve a 2x magnification. It's made up of 14 glass elements in 10 groups, and that included not one but three Extra-Low Dispersion elements.

These elements are part of an apochromatic designation which significantly reduces the appearance of chromatic aberrations and colour fringing. In addition, this structure greatly improves sharpness, clarity and colour accuracy of the images you capture.
