Optical Pathway

The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine Lens is ideal for a range of shot types. The 7.5mm focal range provides a super-wide 123° angle of view and despite this perspective, the lens offers close to zero distortion. The “Zero-D” design is ideal for those extremely useful when shooting architectural, landscape and indoor image capture.

The lens features a highly advanced and intricate optical pathway. It’s made up of 16 elements in 10 groups and includes 2 ED and 2 aspherical glass elements that improve the sharpness and image quality, all whilst controlling chromatic aberrations. Finally, despite the wide angle of view, the lens has a surprisingly short minimum focusing distance of just 25cm which enables enhanced control of depth of field and created a stronger bokeh effect.

Designed for Video

This lens has been designed and optimised for video capture. Weighing just 610g, this lens is suitable for both handheld and gimbal/drone use. It’s equipped with a wide and bright aperture as well as a delicked aperture ring, both of which allow for smooth lighting changes should your scene call for it.

Unlike other similar lenses, this lens features a non-dome-shaped front element. The benefit of this is that you can directly attach 77mm screw-in filters rather than using potentially heavy matte boxes. This lends itself to fast-paced shooting and set-up.
