Expanded Leica Q2 Reporter Digital Camera Key Features:
The Reporter Version
This version of the Q2 is designed for real-life, rigorous reportage photography. Internally identical to the standard Q2 model which of course, enables you to capture truly stunning photography and videography. But its external changes are more than just a makeover. Omitting the trademark Leica red dot and engraving on the top, this model is designed to be more discreet. Its matte green finish is subtle but an effective change that fits the concept of Leica’s M10-P Reporter cousin. And, it features special armouring that’s made of Kevlar that not adds to the durability of the camera but also provides a tactile and grip rhombuses texture.
Leica Power
Internally, the Leica Q2 is equipped with an impressive and reimagined 47.3-megapixel full-frame sensor. This powerful sensor is complemented by Leica’s Maestro II image processor and together, this duo helps to produce stunningly detailed and clarity-rich images and video. The Q2 is capable of capturing 4K video footage and up to 30 fps, as well as full-HD video with 120, 60, 30, or 24 frames per second. In addition, the Q2 has an advanced autofocus system that acquires focus in as little as 0.15 seconds, and expansive low-light performance with an ISO sensitivity range from 50 - 50,000, comfortably dealing with lower levels of light. The Fixed Lens
The Leica Q2 is fitted with a fixed Leica Summilux 28mm f1.7 ASPH lens. This lens sees an advanced lens structure that is made up of 11 glass elements in 9 groups, which includes 3 aspherical elements. This structure not only provides pin-sharp images but the aspherical elements dramatically reduce the appearance of chromatic aberrations that plague lesser lenses. As a 28mm lens, this wider focal length lends itself to the likes of street, architecture or portrait photography, and its maximum f1.7 aperture provides greater control of depth of field, selective focus and allows for effective shooting in lower-light situations.
However, it doesn’t stop there. This prime lens is accompanied by the advanced system that is the Q2 body. This body offers an integrated digital zoom enabling you to choose your frame with focal lengths of 28mm, 35mm, 50mm and 75mm, all whilst retaining the camera’s native 47.3-megapixel image resolution. This transforms the Q2’s ability to cater to a wide range of applications, adding flexibility to almost any shooting environment.
Built For Convenience
An addition to the Leica Q2 is energy-saving Bluetooth connectivity that offers fast and reliable wireless connectivity. Once this system is set up for the first time, the Q2 will automatically save the connection allowing quick connection to your smartphone or device even after you’ve turned your camera off and on again. Why is this useful? This can be combined with Leica’s FOTOS app, making it easy to quickly share your photos with friends and family on social media. You can change various camera settings from your device and even remotely control your Q2’s shutter release.

FAQs:
What’s the difference between this and the standard version?

Is the optical viewfinder comfortable for people who wear eyeglasses?
By all means! You can easily adjust the diopter knob for more comfortable viewing.
Can the Q2 battery be charged in-camera?
No, there is no USB or HDMI port and therefore, the battery must be charged outside the camera.
