Lensbaby Soft Focus II Optic

The Lensbaby Soft Focus II 50 Optic improves on one of Lensbaby’s first and most sought-after lenses. The optic offers that versatile 50mm focal length with a multi-coated optical glass doublet. It includes three special multi-hole soft-focus aperture disks, and switching out the aperture disks controls the degree of softness. Furthermore, this iteration adds a 12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture to its unique and versatile drop-in magnetic aperture system, resulting in more comprehensive aperture control.

Aperture Control

As mentioned, a vast improvement from the first iteration is its unique and versatile drop-in magnetic aperture system. This 12-blade aperture system offers a versatile aperture range from its maximum f2.5 to its minimum f22. Using a wide and bright aperture demonstrates the true creative intention of this lens. It produces an impressionistic image with subtle sharp detail beneath. The colours captured are soft and pastel, which is impossible with standard lenses.

Equally, you can step the lens down to its darker aperture stages, and the lens can capture impressively detailed and traditionally sharp images with a large central area of focus and out-of-focus edges. It's that aperture control that allows for quick variability of the optical effect. Simply turn the front of the optic, and you can switch from the impressionistic glow to sharp and contrasted.

Lensbaby Sweet 50 Optic

The Lensbaby Sweet 50mm f/2.5 selective focus optic creates a tack-sharp "sweet spot" of focus surrounded by blur. Perfect for portrait, still life, event and environmental photography, it's also compatible with the Macro Converters, which allow you to turn your Lensbaby into a macro lens. Its internal aperture blades make it easy to change your aperture and adjust the amount of effect on the fly. Converters and Filters

The Macro Converters are compatible with all Lensbaby lens bodies and optics, making macro photography available to all new and existing Lensbaby photographers. The kit includes an 8mm converter and a 16mm converter, which can be stacked together to make a 24mm converter. The Macro Converters simply screw into the Lensbaby lens body, and then the optic screws into the converter. The Lensbaby Macro Filter Kit includes three screw-on close-up filters. With this kit, the user can capture stunning, tiny details with a creative edge. Whether it is food photography or flowers, these filters deliver a clear close-up image. To use, simply screw the filters onto the front of a 46mm-threaded Lensbaby Optic.
