Positioning Flexibility

Be it a project studio, a room corner, or an open space; the Neumann KH 80 DSP monitor offers many positioning capabilities. It produces a true and clear sound, without any disturbance. The surfaces and corners in a room can cause diffraction, interference, refraction, and reflection of the sound waves for which the rear “Acoustical Control” switch comes into play. It allows easy adjustment of the monitor (free-standing, small/medium/large desk) by guided alignment. There is an option of further precise control via the Neumann Control app and the automatic monitor alignment for room correction.

The monitor is mathematically optimised to deliver accurate detailed sound in any surroundings. It features a pure and transparent sound reproduction with precise sound direction. Its design is based on computer simulations that calculate with a high level of accuracy. The Mathematical Modelled Dispersion Waveguide (MMD) provides the monitor with a uniquely precise sound direction to suit smaller studio environments. It is ideally used in project studios, OB vans, post-production, and mixing-mastering studios. This elliptical waveguide ensures a smooth off-axis response and is more forgiving in diverse acoustical environments.

The monitor has a dimmable Neumann logo to display operation status and activation of the extensive protection system. It is used for low-light conditions and emits different lights for operation status. The “white” colour displays normal operation and the “red” light is displayed for limit/clip/protection/error/shut down mute/boot mute.

The loudspeaker cabinet is made from composite polycarbonate and has a painted, metallic anthracite surface finish on the front. The back of the monitor has a black colour with a metal grille protection on the woofer and the tweeter.
