The Panasonic 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 Mega OIS G Vario Lens in black is an ultra-lightweight and compact retractable zoom lens for Panasonic G series cameras. It utilises Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) - Panasonic's advanced hand-shake correction technology and a 240 fps Sensor Drive to take advantage of cameras with high-speed Contrast AF.

Unwire your creativity with Wi-Fi
The DMC-GM5 offers Wi-Fi connectivity for a more flexible shooting experience and easier image sharing. By simply scanning the QR code displayed on the camera monitor with a smartphone / tablet, you can change the smartphone / tablet into a remote controller for the camera. The new T (Time) function is great for slow shutter shots for things like fireworks or nightscapes. Sharing images when browsing is also quicker thanks to a new direct uploading capability.

The DMC-GM5 boasts not just its outstandingly compact profile but its high functional performance for stunning picture quality. The large 16.00-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor achieves both high resolution and high sensitivity image recording with less noise. The Venus Engine features its advanced noise reduction systems which helps produce clear, smooth image especially for the nighttime scenery. The combination of the Live MOS Sensor and the Venus Engine achieves max. ISO25600.

Fast and Accurate AF
The Contrast AF system of DMC-GM5 excels in both speed and accuracy by exchanging digital signals between the camera and the lens at a maximum 240 fps. The DMC-GM5 also offers high-speed burst shooting at 5.8 fps in 16.00-megapixel resolution and a maximum 40 fps with an electronic shutter.

Low Light AF
Low Light AF makes it possible to focus on your subject more precisely in -4EV low-light situations, which is as dark as a starry sky with no other light source.

Face / Eye Detection AF
In addition to the conventional Face Recognition AF, the DMC-GM5 incorporates Face / Eye Detection AF which automatically sets focus right on the face or eye in face.

Pinpoint AF
Pinpoint AF allows you to set magnification from 3x to 10x enlargement by 0.1x step. It assists, for example, setting focus right on the pupil in an eye.

Focus Peaking
Focus Peaking function shows the peak of focus in MF and AF+MF mode. It is also available in remote photo / video shooting with smartphone / tablet via Wi-Fi.

Eye Sensor AF
The image output between the LVF and the rear monitor is automatically switched by the eye sensor on the LVF. The same sensor also serves for the Eye Sensor AF, which automatically starts auto focusing by just looking into the LVF to prevent missed shooting opportunities.

Silent Mode
This mode switches shutter from mechanical to electronic and turns all sound (AF, operation) off while suppress emission of AF assist lamp and flash with just a single setting for special shooting occasions.

1920x 1080p Full-HD Video in AVCHD / MP4
The DMC-GM5 features full-HD 1920 x 1080 50p smooth, high quality video recording in AVCHD Progressive and MP4 with stereo sound. The practical full-time AF and tracking AF is available in video recording, too. The cinema-like 24p video with the bit rate of max. 24 Mbps or P/A/S/M mode provide richly expressive afterimage with overwhelming image quality.

Creative Video Mode
The P/A/S/M mode lets you enjoy expressive video recording by manually setting the aperture and shutter speed. You can also add different artistic effects to your videos by applying a Creative Control filter.

Snap Movie Mode
The new Snap Movie mode records video in designated short periods of time (2/4/6/8 sec) for shooting "moving photos". This function also enables rack focusing and the addition of fading effects (color in/out, black in/out, white in/out). Those short video clips are easy to share using "Panasonic Image App". You can also connect them in any order you like and even to add music instead of recorded sound on the combined file later.

Time Lapse Shot
Leave the camera for stationary recording of subjects such as astronomical observation, flowers coming into bloom or scudding clouds. The series of consequent images can be combined in the camera to produce a time lapse video.

Stop Motion Animation
The Stop Motion Animation function enables producing a stop motion (stop frame) video in camera with the pictures that are sequentially shot while moving the object by degrees. This effect makes the object appear as if it is moving by itself.

Durable magnesium alloy frame brings ruggedness to the compact size to provide flexible shooting.

Live Viewfinder / Touch Panel Rear Monitor
The DMC-GM5 features an LVF (Live View Finder) with 1,166k-dot equivalent resolution and approx. 100% color reproduction. It assures stable framing and superb visibility even under strong sunlight. A 3-inch, approx. 921k-dot static-type touch monitor is also provided. The adoption of new monitor panel suppresses the reflection of external light, and enables higher visibility even for sunny outdoor shooting. Attenuation of transmitting backlight is minimised to achieve a wide angle of view and save power.

Compact Size
While inheriting the image quality and performance of conventional LUMIX G cameras, the DMC-GM5 features a well planned design, starting with the main circuit board and shutter mechanism, to achieve superb compactness and light weight. Changes to the main circuit board provided space for the lens mount. And the spring-type shutter mechanism, which was difficult to downsize, was replaced by a motor mechanism for further reduction in size and weight.

Hot Shoe / External Flash
The DMC-GM5 comes equipped with a hot shoe to allow the mounting of the external flash (GN10 ISO200m / GN7 ISO100m), which matches the design and size of the DMC-GM5. With a separately purchased DMW-FL360L / FL580L, wireless control and LED video light functions are available.

Creative Control
The DMC-GM5 features a Creative Control mode with 22 filter effects. Now it is possible to apply one of these filters even in P/A/S/M mode. Photos can also be taken "with" and "without" the filter effect for later selection.
