Quality construction
The lens has been built with 18 elements in 16 groups, three of which are aspherical elements and 4 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses that effectively reduce chromatic aberration. The aspherical lenses will ultimately capture clearer detail over the entire frame. Then there is the UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens. This has been included to help achieve uniform image quality in every photo that you take.
Dust and splash-resistant
Panasonic do not want your photography or video work to be limited by your surroundings or by the weather. Because of this, they have designed this lens to be dust and splash resistant and to be able to still work perfectly in cold conditions to as low at -10°C. You're never going to miss a shot!
Autofocus speed
The Panasonic S Pro 24-70mm f2.8 Lens will take excellent quality images but without lighting fast autofocus, what would be the point? Panasonic have integrated a double focussing system that combines both a linear and stepping motor that is capable of achieving a sensor drive up to a maximum speed of 480fps. This speed and accuracy of the autofocus is invaluable and you'll find it difficult miss that decisive moment you see in front of you. Furthermore, this lens is not going perfect for still, it also compliments video recording as it features mechanism to suppress focus breathing. This is an issue that most other zoom lenses exhibit that are primarily designed for still images over video.
Constant F2.8 max aperture
Finally we have the wide and constant maximum F2.8 aperture. This large aperture can produce some stunning bokeh as well as defining distances between subjects. This effect creates a real depth in the images you will take where you can clearly distinguish between a subject close to the camera and one that is all the way to the back of the frame.
