5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilisation

The Panasonic LUMIX S1R has an integrated 5-axis body image stabilisation that can be combined with the 2-stop optical image stabilisation of LUMIX S Series lenses for steady and clear images. The 5-axis Dual in-body image stabilisation is able to compensate for heavy handed camera movements as well as being particular effective in low-light situations, as it allows the you to shoot using a slower shutter speed without your images having motion blur that can ruin the overall image.

High Resolution Mode

The S1R features a High Resolution mode that allows you to capture ultra-high res images. The way the camera does this is by taking eight consecutive images whilst shifting the sensor and combining them into a single RAW image. Landscape photography has never been as detailed and clear. The clarity is incredible. This function can also be used in situations where moving subjects are included in the scene, by switching the sub mode.

Accurate and Fast Auto Focus

Panasonic’s autofocus technology development has involved allowing the combined power of lens, camera sensor, and image engine to provide astonishingly fast autofocus performance. The lens and sensor are able to communicate at a maximum 480fps. Finally, contrast AF with DFD technology allows the LUMIX S1R achieves an ultra-high-speed, high-precision autofocus of approximately 0.08 sec.

High Speed Video

The S1R is capable of UHD 4K60p recording with 4:2:0 8-bit colour and unlimited recording times to the limits of your chosen memory card. High-speed recording modes for UHD 4K60, with 30 fps playback, and Full HD 180 fps, with 30 fps playback, offer 2x and 6x slower motion, respectively. Additionally, recording to an optional external recorder is possible, via the HDMI Type A port, and support for an external microphone and headphones are also available via dedicated 3.5mm jacks.

The Largest-in-class Real View Finder

The Real View Finder featured on the Panasonic S1R is the largest in its class and features the world’s highest 5,760k-dot resolution. The 0.78x magnification ratio can be switched to 0.7x or 0.74x according to the shooting situation. A High-speed, high-precision OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) for the LVF achieves smooth display at 60fps / 120 ps (switchable) and high-speed response with minimum time lag of less than 0.005 sec as well as 10,000:1 high contrast provides you with exceptional and detailed visibility.
