There are two buttons on this device. One is for channel and the other is for value. Press and hold both of them to toggle between the percentage and DMX value (ranging from 0-255).

Does this device have a rechargeable battery? What is its battery backup?

Unfortunately, this device doesn’t have a rechargeable battery. Instead, this device operates on. 2 CR2032 batteries that last for months on end.

How does it operate? Do the LEDs remain always on?

You can connect this device to different lighting setups to read channels. There is a blue LED on the device that displays the selected channel and a green LED lights up and displays the DMX value. The device is optimised to shut off automatically after 10 seconds of inactivity to preserve battery life.
