With the introduction of the large 2.25-inch LCD touch panel, the RICOH THETA X provides playback options fundamental to the new, streamlined design that prioritises universal use. Using the touch panel, users are now able to select their desired settings, capture the shot with a tap and review their images in mere moments. Also a first for the RICOH THETA series, this new model has an interchangeable battery and an external memory card for more efficient and reliable shooting suited to both personal use and business settings.

Lightweight, Compact Capturing

Weighing in at just 170g, the RICOH THETA X weighs 12g less than its Z1 predecessor. This lightweight, thin body (only 29.0mm depth) provides improved portability and is constructed using magnesium alloy for a durable finish that feels high-end. Included with the THETA x is a soft case to keep your equipment safe and secure when you’re out in the field. The improved smartphone compatibility also allows users to achieve high-speed, wireless image and video transfer, reducing the need for an excess of equipment and keeping your shooting experience compact.

Specs to Shout About

The RICOH THETA X now records more natural 360-degree images using up to approximately 60MP (11008 x 5504, 11K) still image shooting and high-precision stitching. Video capability has also been enhanced, allowing users to shoot incredibly realistic spherical videos using image stabilization and up to 5.7K, 30fps video - ideal for VR scenes. The THETA X also includes the ability to livestream in 4K (3840×1920 /30fps) or 2K (1920x960 /30fps) for a longer duration.

Expanded Possibilities

In line with the rest of the THETA series, the THETA X uses an Android-based operating system that allows developers to develop and release additional applications (plug-ins). With the THETA X, “client mode” (a mode used to directly connect the RICOH THETA to a wireless router) allows plug-ins to be installed and firmware to be updated simply by operating the RICOH THETA X itself making it easy to expand functions to suit the user's needs.

Empowered Digital Workspaces

With a large variety of dedicated apps, users can easily share their work from anywhere with people all over the world. 360-degree photos can be uploaded as-is to Facebook and LINE whilst other images and videos can be posted to Instagram and Twitter after processing them in THETA+. You can also upload work to theta360.com, a website dedicated to sharing 360-degree images, and link to various Cloud services and solutions that utilize 360-degree images, such as the virtual tour service.

How much internal memory does this have?

The RICOH THETA X has approximately 46GB of internal memory. This can be increased by a further 64GB or higher with a microSDXC Memory Card.

How long does the battery last?

It is estimated that 220 still images can be taken with a fully charged battery. This equates to 30 minutes of footage when shooting in 5.7K or 55minutes of 4K footage.

Does it come with a microphone?

The RICOH THETA X has a built-in monaural microphone.

Are there any other compatible accessories?

The Ricoh Lens Cap TL-3 is compatible with the THETA X and can be purchased separately.
