Video
As the name suggests, the Roland V-8HD can accept up to eight 1080p60 resolution feeds from a variety of different video sources to include media players, computers, professional video cameras, and so much more. In addition to this, two of the available HDMI inputs utilise internal scaling hardware to match/scale videos of different resolutions to that of the selected output. Video effects include cut, mix, wipe, chroma and luma key, flip, fade, and more - ensuring that your live broadcast is of the highest quality possible. Further to this, five composition layers are available to keep your audience engaged and your clients happy.
You also have the ability to store eight .bmp and .png files into the V-8HD's internal memory for quick access to images to then add to your effects. Another key feature of this video switcher is that it supports and seamlessly mixes eight HDMI sources, even when these sources have different frame rates and colour spaces. Alongside this, the two built-in scalers allow you to efficiently interface with sources provided by the specific client. These could be computers, tablets, smartphones, games consoles, or legacy 4:3 devices.
Audio
The Roland V-8HD incorporates an 18-channel audio mixer. This is another key reason why a compact, versatile video switcher is a great addition to any production company who specialise in live event streaming. You are given access to so many customisable video and audio controls, adding serious value to the final product and saving you time on location. It also features up to 24-bit, 48 kHz PCM audio with a large effects library that provides gain, de-esser, noise reduction, and much more. This is as well as left-right analogue RCA inputs and outputs and a reliable 1/4" TRS headphone output.
Quick-Fire Controls
The V-8HD has a wide range of user-friendly controls, as well as a 4.3" TFT colour LCD screen that previews each individual input and program output. To the top of the device are a full range of input and outputs buttons, position, source, and levels buttons. Once you have set up your Roland compact video switcher, the user-interface will start to become more familiar, with the fade T-bar sitting centre stage. Atomos recorders can also be remotely controlled and monitored via a trigger button (start/stop) to minimise the risk of missing a vital record.
For ease of use, the V-8HD can send any of the unique input devices to a dedicated aux output without damaging the main feed. This makes it possible to synchronise the aux output with the program output - supplying you with a built-in 2x distribution amp. Some projects might require source switching randomly or in sequence, and this is where the Input and Preset Memory Scans come in handy. For example, BPM sync is available, where auto-switching of the Preview and Program occur at a specified tempo - this is great for live music events.
Compact Design

You can operate the switching function, mix audio with virtual faders, customise settings, and create up to eight custom scenes for quick set-up changes using preset memories. To achieve an even more efficient workflow, you can now save and restore V-8HD system settings via the Remote Control Utility.

The only way to do this is to save the individual animations with proper keys and luminance properties. The V-8HD Video Switcher can then overlay these within the live broadcast.
Can you input from 4K video sources to the Roland V-8HD?
No, the scaler only accepts video input up to 1080p resolution.

Buy now pay later
The Buy Now Pay Later option comprises a 36 month loan following a six month deferral period.
During the six-month deferral period, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is partially repaid within six months, the remaining interest will be adjusted to reflect the new balance. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, however, a £29 early settlement fee is payable in respect of repayments within these six months.
Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 18.9% APR (representative) on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Novuna Personal Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six-month deferral period is due to elapse.
