The Sennheiser AVX-ME2/835 SET-3 Set benefits from a lightweight and compact design for an impressively portable bit of audio kit. Both the transmitter and receiver each weigh a feathery 87g, even though the kit benefits from the durability of a rugged metal chassis. To keep things efficient on the road, Sennheiser also includes a locking connector to ensure your lav doesn’t accidentally disconnect at critical recording moments, a switch for convenient muting and a display with indicators for battery life and signal strength.

The compact receiver plugs directly into the XLR input of your device and can rotate 320-degrees so that it's out of the way and does not disturb other mounted accessories. Although this audio set is perfect for plug-and-play, an AF button is included on the receiver for adjusting the output level to your camera if desired.

Protected Pairing

Pairing your kit is as easy as pressing a button - both the transmitter and receiver have a pairing control that can be held down for a short duration to get you set up in a flash. When the LED indicator turns green, your audio kit is good to go. If you’re planning for a busy shoot, you can pair up to 8 AVX systems and operate them simultaneously within the same 98’ area - it’s worth noting, though, that these devices work on a peer-to-peer basis so every transmitter will need a receiver and vice versa.

Once powered up, the digital AVX automatically finds the cleanest frequency in the license-free 1.9 GHz range so you don’t have to battle with TV or Wi-Fi interference. If any interference is detected, the AVX automatically increases the power on the transmitter anywhere up to 250 mW. This kit also benefits from the strongest AES 256 encryption for truly worry-free sound recording.

Premium Performance

The Sennheiser AVX ME2/835 SET-3 benefits from an included SKM AVX handheld microphone and the popular ME2 omnidirectional lavalier microphone. Both of these microphones are adept at recording natural sound optimised for speech intelligibility. With an omnidirectional polar pattern, the ME2 also lavalier ensures that sound remains consistent, regardless of the speaker's movements.

The AVX’s automatic mic-level control also takes full advantage of the wide dynamic range provided to provide consistent speech free from clipping and distortion - ideal for enthusiastic speakers with rising intonations. In delivering 24-bit/48 kHz audio with an extended 50 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response, the AVX ME2/835 set is a truly premium system for pristine, clean recordings.

Professional Power Management

The AVX transmitter and receiver both feature removable, lithium-ion batteries that are recharged via the USB port. Whilst the transmitter can provide up to 15 hours of battery life, the receiver is limited to 4 hours. However, the receiver turns itself on and off when phantom power is sensed from your camcorder or DSLR. Both devices can also be powered through their USB ports for indefinite use when access to AC mains power is available.

Whilst Sennheiser has dynamically designed the AVX-ME2/835 SET-3 with advanced power management in mind, the included Accupack batteries are also available separately so you can extend battery life in the field with fully charged spares.
