Advanced optical design for high-resolution results
The Sigma 200mm f2 DG OS Sport Lens is the world’s first* 200mm f2 telephoto prime lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras, offering outstanding performance. Its optical design features 19 elements in 14 groups, including 2 FLD (‘F’ Low Dispersion) and 2 SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements. These elements correct axial chromatic aberration and magnification chromatic aberration, which are both common in telephoto lenses, for improved image quality. Even when the aperture is wide open, the lens maintains detail, high resolution, and contrast across the image. Advanced simulation technology and Sigma’s Nano Porous Coating and Super Multi-Layer Coating eliminate flare and ghosting to maintain consistently sharp, colour-rich results in all conditions.

Bright f2 aperture for standout portraits
The f2 aperture on the Sigma 200mm f2 DG OS Sport lens lets you capture portraits that stand out. Providing twice the light amount of f2.8, the f2 aperture enables large bokeh that combines with the compression effect of the 200mm focal length for a unique background blur that makes your subjects stand out. The bright f2 aperture lets you shoot at faster shutter speeds even in low light for capturing impressive indoor sports photography. Whether capturing a standard portrait or an athlete in motion, the lens ensures dynamic results.
Rapid autofocus and robust image stabilisation
For optimal performance, the Sigma 200mm f2 DG OS Sport has high-speed autofocus and advanced optical image stabilisation. The HLA (High-Response Linear Actuator) motor enables high-speed autofocus, combining fast focusing speed with accuracy for enhanced clarity. The lens has an OS2 optical image stabilisation algorithm, providing 5.5 stops of stabilisation. It features two operating modes: Mode 1 for general shooting and Mode 2 for capturing panning shots of motorsports or other sports. Mode 2 provides effective image stabilisation when moving the camera vertically or diagonally, regardless of the horizontal and vertical orientation. This stabilisation mode captures a subject’s movement without losing the panning shot effect.
Durable Sports line design for outdoor shooting
As part of Sigma’s Sports line, the lens boasts a high standard of build quality and durability, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. The lens’ exterior is coated with a thermal insulation paint that suppresses heat absorption from sunlight, preventing the lens from heating up when exposed to sunny conditions. Alongside the paint, the mount joints, manual focusing ring, zoom ring, custom switches, and exterior joints have a dust- and splash-resistant structure for protection. The front element of the lens features a water- and oil-repellent coating, making lens cleaning straightforward.
