Expanded Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG DN Art Lens Key Features:
Outstanding Optical Performance
The Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG DN Art lens delivered exceptional results thanks to premium construction featuring 17 elements arranged in 14 groups. This includes 2 ultra-low dispersion, 1 special low dispersion and 4 aspherical elements - including the largest double-sided aspherical elements ever produced by Sigma. Together they dramatically reduce optical aberrations such as sagittal coma flare and chromatic aberration.
With Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous Coatings on the lens, ghosting and flares are suppressed, preventing any reflections in the lens. It also delivers outstanding contrast and crystal-clear image quality. All of these features allow the ultra-wide 94.5° angle of view and bright f1.4 aperture to capture stunning images, whether you’re shooting astro, landscape or architectural photography.
Advanced Functionality
Sigma’s incredible optical design has made this ultra-wide lens a versatile tool in any situation. An 82mm front filter thread and rear filter holder allows photographers to combine multiple filters and attachments - for example, an astrophotographer could attach a light pollution filter at the front and a soft filter at the back.
An aperture ring has been built into the lens, which is de-clickable for smooth transitions between aperture settings, and sports a Manual Focus Lock (MFL) switch. This new feature fully deactivates the focus ring so the focus position is kept the same if accidentally knocked. The days of using tape to hold the focus ring in position are over.
Superb Build Quality
Known for its high production standards, Sigma delivers yet again a durable and stylish lens. At just 630g, the 20mm f1.4 DG DN Art lens is significantly lighter than the previous 20mm lens. It is also dramatically more compact, with a length of 111.2mm and 87.8mm diameter, making this piece of kit easy to work with during extended shoots.
Small but mighty, the robust body is constructed from aluminium and Thermally Stable Composite (TSC), providing a sleek look and sturdy housing. Its also built with a dust and splash-resistant structure, has water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element, and has a rubber seal around the mount - making the lens safe to use outdoors for extended shoots.
