Incredible Performance Across the Entire Zoom Range

The Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art Lens for Sony E builds upon the previous generation, the 24-70mm f2.8 AF DG DN Art Lens, to ensure outstanding optical performance worthy of its flagship status. The bright f2.8 aperture delivers sharpness across the entire zoom range and pairs with the 11-blade rounded diaphragm for a large, rounded bokeh effect that adds an artistic flare to your shots. With a minimum focus distance of 17cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7, it has excellent close-up capabilities. You can shoot in tight spaces or get smaller subjects to fill the frame, providing the flexibility to shoot products, nature, and more, capturing the finer details.

The lens uses advanced simulation technology to render detailed, high-contrast images to help suppress ghosting and flaring, which can lead to reduced image quality. A Nano-Porous Coating and a Super Multi-Layer Coating further suppress ghosting and flaring, while high backlight resistance ensures clear and sharp images regardless of tricky lighting conditions. With such versatile, high-performing specs, this performs well in various lighting scenarios and lends itself well to a range of applications in both photography and video.

Advanced Optical Construction for Sharp Results

Sigma’s 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art Lens features a premium optical design that guarantees sharp images by suppressing imperfections. It has 6 FLD (‘F’ Low Dispersion) glass elements, 2 SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and 5 aspherical elements to control sagittal coma flare and correct lateral chromatic aberration for high edge-to-edge resolution and minimal colour fringing. Sigma expertly crafts the 5 aspherical lenses to be thin and highly polarised to ensure the 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art Lens delivers clear, accurate, and colour-rich results while remaining compact.

Capture Stunning Video with High-Speed Autofocus

For maximum versatility, the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art Lens for Sony E excels for shooting photos in fast-paced environments and high-quality video. The lens incorporates high-speed autofocus with a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) for the AF actuator, making it more than three times faster than the previous model and excellent for capturing moving subjects while taking photos or recording videos. The lens can also suppress focus breathing, ensuring the change in angle of view when the focus shifts is minimal and delivering visually pleasing focus pulls while shooting video.

Expanded Features for an Enhanced User Experience

Building on the success of its predecessor, the 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art Lens comes equipped with an upgraded feature set for improved usability. The lens now has an aperture ring alongside an aperture ring click switch and aperture ring lock switch, ensuring adaptability for various shooting scenarios. There are now two AFL buttons instead of one for easy access when shooting vertically or horizontally, to which you can assign functions for your convenience. However, only select cameras support this feature.

The lens features a zoom lock switch that locks the lens and prevents the barrel from extending under its weight, assisting in keeping your shot steady. You can release this lock via the switch or by operating the zoom, making it excellent for quick shooting adjustments. A petal-type lens hood is included, allowing you to protect the front element of the lens and reduce unwanted flare. It has a handy locking mechanism to ensure secure attachment for worry-free shooting.

Durable and Portable for Shooting Anywhere

Although the Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG DN II Art Lens has the same number of lens elements as the previous model, its body is 7% smaller and 10% lighter. The advanced optical design improves upon the performance of the original lens while ensuring the new generation is even more compact for excellent manoeuvrability. The lens’ durability has also been greatly enhanced through the use of metal parts for the zoom extension unit, among other things, ensuring you can take it anywhere and enjoy long-term use. Furthermore, the lens is suitable for use in various weather conditions thanks to a dust and splash-resistant structure and a water and oil-repellent coating on the lens's front element.
