Anamorphic optics for a cinematic experience
The lens uses an optically distorting anamorphic front element to squeeze the horizontal axis of the image by 1.6 times, allowing more image information to be captured on the sensor. This is then stretched again in post-production or in-camera (check your camera specification for compatibility) to create a wider field of view and wider aspect ratio compared to a conventional aspherical lens.
Beautiful horizontal lens flares
The Sirui T2.9 reproduces flares beautifully, while the coatings on the lens prevent them from darkening the entire frame.
Bright design
The fast T2.9 aperture produces a very shallow depth of field, which enhances the over-shaped bokeh effect found in anamorphic lenses. This soft out-of-focus area is one of the advantages a true anamorphic lens offers over its filter counterparts or digital crop bars to imitate the anamorphic “look.”
Compatible with follow focus
The built-in gear rings work perfectly with the follow-focus setup to ensure smooth and accurate focusing.
