This ultra-wide-angle 15-30mm zoom lens continues Tamron's development of lenses for serious photographers, adding an ultra-wide-angle solution to their line-up of high-quality optics for pro DSLR users. Suitable for full-frame and smaller sensors, the 15-30mm lens incorporates advanced features such as a constant f2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range, along with quiet and fast USD (Ultrasonic silent drive) focusing and water and dirt repellent Fluorine coating on the new XGM front element. This lens is suitable for a wide range of photographic subjects, including landscape, travel, interior, weddings, gigs, and night time photography.

Superb Image quality and performance
The optical construction of 18 elements in 13 groups, including for the first time an XGM (eXpanded Glass Moulded Aspherical) element within the front group and several LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements, assures that this lens delivers outstanding image quality throughout the entire zoom range and from corner to corner.

VC stabilisation Tailored for Ultra Wide and Low light
Recognising the need for an image stabilisation solution for fast f2.8 ultra-wide-angle lenses, Tamron have tuned their VC (Vibration Compensation) system specifically for the zoom range of this lens to give excellent performance even with low light and slow shutter speeds.

BBAR and eBAND lens Coatings
Tamron have paid particular attention to their BBAR Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) which has been refined further for this Ultra wide lens. Coupled with the eBAND coatings this results in crisper, crystal-clear images with ghosting and flare being efficiently eliminated.

Water and Dirt repellent Fluorine coating
The front element has a special Fluorine coating to repel water and dirt in order to keep it as clean as possible and make it easy to clean resulting in clearer sharper images even when in challenging environments.

Smooth background "bokeh"
The 9 blade curved aperture construction gives amazing smooth backgrounds within the out of focus areas of your image when using wider apertures due to its near circular form.

USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) autofocus control
Tack sharp images with fast autofocus response and almost silent operation give great USD autofocus control to the photographer, together with Tamron's Full Time Manual focussing operation allowing adjustment to focus manually without having to exit the AF mode.

Unique built in Lens hood design
This unique lens hood provides effective shading of the front lens surface over the entire zoom range to minimise flare. It utilises the unique characteristics of the optical system in which the front lens group recedes as you zoom in from 15mm to 30mm. A double-hood structure has been also incorporated into the lens design for additional strength.
