Available in either a Full-HD or 4K version, this unit is a versatile and flexible live stream encoder and recorder. Streaming and recording in high-resolution, this unit provides both an HDMI input and output and will stream via RTSP and RTMP. It offers both analogue 3.5mm audio input and output, and a bit rate of up to 30Mb/s. Compatibility with the Tascam Discovery app further increases its versatility, allowing multiple VS-R units connected to the network to be managed from a Web-browser based GUI. You can record directly to a USB stick or SD card using the font-panel slots, as well as recorded files can be automatically uploaded to an FTP server. How is this unit powered?

The unit is powered by PoE+ which eliminates the need for AC adapters in AV installations. However, there is an optional TASCAM AC power supply (sold separately) that can be purchased for use when external AC power is needed.

Can I use this with multiple VS-R devices?

Tascam has made this unit compatible with the Tascam Discovery app. This app is purpose-built to allow multiple VS-R units connected to a network and to be managed from a Web-browser based GUI. Your configuration settings can be saved within the VS-R device so that for normal use, you don't need a computer for streaming or recording.

What is this compatible with?

This unit is compatible with many standard streaming protocols, including HLS, RTMP, RTP/RTSP, as well as Multicast and Unicast.
