Version II

As the name suggests, this is the second iteration of this lens and with that comes upgrades that elevate the performance and results of the lens. Optimised for modern mirrorless cameras, allowing for enhanced operability. Its equipped with an updated optical structure that is designed for modern digital cameras allowing for effective focusing whilst using live view. The optical pathway maintains its integrity and the use of one abnormal partial dispersion element retains the distinct character and high colour accuracy rendering of the original lens. However, what the original didn’t offer was reduced curvature of field and astigmatism that in turn improves focusing accuracy and sharpness across the frame.

Operation

This version of the lens uses an advanced multicoating that significantly suppresses the appearance of flare and ghosting resulting in higher contrast and colour fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. In contrast, when it gets darker, this lens shines. The lens is equipped with a wide, bright and fast maximum f1.4 aperture that in conjunction with the camera’s processor, excels in low-light situations, drawing in a huge amount of light, colour accuracy and detail.

This aperture also offers enhanced control of depth of field and subject-background separation that can be highlighted with the precision manual focusing design and minimum focusing distance of just 70cm. Furthermore, its 10-bladed diaphragm contributes to the beautifully smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.
