Expanded Voigtlander 90mm f2.8 VM Apo-Skopar Lens for Leica M Key Features:
Lightweight and High-Performance
Whilst producing high-quality imagery as a constant, the apochromatic design ensures that axial chromatic aberration remains as close to zero as possible. As well as this, the clean and simplified structure realises a length of just 60mm long, whilst weighing just 250g in total. This makes the 90mm f2.8 VM Apo-Skopar lens incredibly portable and small in stature. Another positive of its reduced form-factor means that it does not protrude into the viewfinder frame when used on a rangefinder camera.
Something quite unique to this lens is that the 10 diaphragm blades allow the aperture to adopt a particular shape. This is where the aperture makes a circle not just at the fully-open f2.8, but also at f4 and f22. With this, you are able to create eye-catching cinematic flares that are known as “ball blur”, by pointing the lens towards a particular light source within the frame.
Rangefinder Interlocking Mechanism
Designed particularly for rangefinder-linked digital and film cameras, this lens is equipped with a high-precision rangefinder interlocking mechanism. What this does is that it encourages a smoother operation via the all-metal helicoid ring and a more pleasurable focus with the traditional optical rangefinder. The shortest shooting distance linked to the rangefinder is 0.9m, which does depend on the particular camera system, but is still incredibly impressive for a 90mm medium telephoto lens.

FAQs:
Where is this lens made?
The Voigtlander 90mm f2.8 VM Apo-Skopar lens is manufactured in Japan.
What does axial chromatic aberration refer to?
Axial chromatic aberration is a variation in the length of each singular wavelength of light, which can become detrimental to the final image. This Voigtlander lens consists of a key apochromatic design that helps to combat this particular optical imperfection.
Does this lens come with a lens hood?
You are supplied with a lens hood, which can be reverse-mounted to improve portability.
