The Wimberley Head WH-200 MK II is a specialised tripod head for telephoto lenses. Its gimbal-type design allows rotation of a lens around its centre of gravity. Very large lenses are thus easily manipulated. Since its introduction in 1991, the Wimberley Head has become the industry standard for serious nature photographers with heavy telephoto zoom lenses.
Key Features: Wimberley Head Tripod Head II
What's new about the Mark II version?
The Wimberley Head Version II offers the same stiffness, capacity, and fluid movement of the old version in a more compact and lightweight package (at 1.4 kg, it is 0.45 kg lighter and about 5 cm shorter). The head's redesigned panning base has zero play, and the pan locking knob has been moved to the side of the head, allowing the user to easily operate both knobs with the same hand. New lobed 'soft-touch' knobs provide a more comfortable grip and perform better when using gloves. In addition to the above improvements, Wimberley has examined all aspects of the head, tightening tolerances, improving friction materials and so forth. The result is a fantastic piece of equipment.
The Wimberley Head Version II will adjust to fit virtually any telephoto lens with a rotation collar. It is ideally suited for large lenses (300mm, f/2.8 or bigger).
The following lenses require special consideration:
Lens: Nikon 600mm f/4 AF-S version I Special Requirement: AP-652 Replacement Foot
Lens: Nikon 600mm f/4 AF-S v II - 400mm f/2.8 AF-S v I - 400mm f/2.8 AF-S v II Special Requirement: AP-452 Replacement Foot
The Wimberley Head Version II has a built-in, Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamp; It is not available in a non-quick-release model. In order to use the head, your lens must be equipped with an Arca-Swiss style lens plate. We sell a comprehensive line of such plates that have unique advantages over competing products.
Flash Bracket Compatibility
The dovetail on the swinging arm of the new Wimberley Head, which allows you to adjust the platform up and down, has the Arca-Swiss geometry. This was not true of the old version of the head. Thus, the F-4 Wimberley Head Flash Bracket is not compatible with the new Wimberley Head without the use of the FA-9 Flash Bracket Adapter.
The F-9 Wimberley Head Version II Flash bracket is made specifically for the new head. It attaches directly to the Arca-Swiss Style dovetail on the arm of the Wimberley Head Version II. It is comprised of the M-3 Tilt Arm and the (new) M-9 Wimberley Head Version II Module. If you already own the M-3 Tilt arm you need only purchase Module M-9 to form this bracket.

Can I repay early? If so how?
No repayments are scheduled in the initial six-month deferral period. However, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, but a £29.00 early-settlement will be incurred. Such repayments may be made to Barclays Partner Finance by cheque, debit card or standing order. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a direct debit within the deferral period. Further information on how to make such repayments will be set out in the loan agreement pack provided by Barclays Partner Finance.
What happens if I don't repay within the first six months (deferral period)?
Following the six month deferral period, Barclays Partner Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 19.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Late payment penalties and early repayment charges will apply from this point. Barclays Partner Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six month deferral period is due to elapse. Note: If you chose to spread the cost and pay monthly, interest is charged from the start of the loan, not from the start of the repayment period.
What will I receive from the finance provider (lender)?
Barclays Partner Finance will send a loan agreement pack approximately four weeks after delivery of the goods, confirming that the account has been activated and, from this point, it is possible to make repayments against the loan. You will also receive reminder letters and text at the end of the deferral period to remind you when your first payment is due.
