The Zeiss ZX1 is an incredibly intuitive camera system that provides image-makers with the tools to shoot, edit, and share content in seconds. With a full-frame sensor to aid in capturing high-fidelity imagery, the ZX1 is quite unique in its inclusion of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom in-camera editing software. You can edit images via the tactile rear touchscreen and share them instantly over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or via the in-built USB-C port. You can even capture UHD 4K30 video footage, utilising the broadened sensitivity range of ISO 80-51200 to suit varying lighting conditions. With an integrated Zeiss Distagon T* 35mm f2 prime lens, this camera is ideal for landscape, portrait, and documentary-style photography and videography. To further simplify the image-capturing process, you are afforded access to various physical dials and rings for adjusting exposure, as well as a leaf shutter design. The ZX1 is a serious step-forward for all-in-one camera systems.

Point and Shoot
At the heart of the ZX1 is a full-frame 37.4MP CMOS sensor. This allows for high-resolution still-images and UHD 4K video recording, as well as a broad sensitivity range of ISO 80-51200. To further ensure corner-to-corner sharpness and clarity, the in-built ZEISS Distagon T* 35mm f2 prime lens combats low-light situations with ease and offers improved control over the depth of field. The leaf shutter design also provides flash sync at all available shutter speeds up to 1/1000 sec; ideal for near-silent shooting situations. In regard to focus systems, you are afforded access to a hybrid phase-/contrast-detection AF that can be used in accordance with either single-shot or continuous AF modes, or DMF and MF modes can be utilised.
To enhance the tactile performance of the ZX1, Zeiss has incorporated physical shutter speed and ISO dials, along with a manual aperture ring to allow for full intuitive control over exposure settings. Other built-in shooting tools include the high-resolution 0.7" OLED electronic viewfinder with 0.74x magnification, rear LCD screen with quick-action toolbar, and the hot shoe mount, which is compatible with the popular Sigma TTL flash protocol.
Edit on the Go
The ZX1’s large 4.34” rear LCD screen makes on-the-move image editing possible. It can be characterised as a HD (1280 x 720) screen with a 338ppi resolution and touch-sensitive controls. Due to its size and intuitive nature, the rear LCD screen further allows for real-time reviews of your images when out on location. However, the real showstopper is that the ZX1 comes fully equipped with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC. This allows you to adjust your exposure, colours, contrast, and so much more directly from your camera, or by syncing your edits to Lightroom CC on your desktop. It is worth noting that some editing features will require a separate Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
Instant Sharing
To share your exciting new image content, you are provided with three options. In-built Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity allows you to share instantly from your camera to a shared device, whilst the USB-C interface can be utilised to port images directly to an external hard drive, share a live view to an additional screen, or to charge the internal battery via an external battery pack (external battery sold separately). To guarantee full access to files, automatic backups to your own NAS system can be performed on-the-go. Firmware updates can also be downloaded OTA (Over-The-Air) whilst out and about.
