The Zoom Q8n-4K Handy Video Recorder has powerful tools for content creators, indie filmmakers and musicians who need to keep their production setup small and portable. 4K video is a feature of the Q8n-4K that you will love. But if your priority is smaller file size, the Q8n-4K also gives you the option to record in lower resolution formats

Do you want to watch your video on a monitor? Then you simply connect the micro HDMI output of the recorder to a screen (the correct cables are available separately).

With the Q8n-4K you have the same high-quality audio formats as with Zoom's special audio recorders. You can record in WAV format with a resolution of up to 24-bit, 96 kHz.

In addition to the gain and signal fill controls, the menu system provides access to panning, volume, low-cut filtering and dynamics processors such as a compressor, limiter, leveler, de-esser and noise gate. Audio can be recorded together with video or separately, allowing the Q8n-4K to function as a standalone four-channel audio recorder.

For a true stereo image without separate microphones and cables, the XYQ-8n capsule features two matched unidirectional condenser elements in a 120° X/Y configuration. It's a great built-in solution, but it can be replaced with other Zoom microphone capsules (sold separately), such as the VRH-8 Ambisonic microphone capsule made for 360° audio.

Thanks to the dual XLR microphone/line inputs with phantom power and a switchable -20 dB pad, the recorder can handle professional microphones (dynamic or condenser) or even the main outputs of a mixing console.

It is very easy to check the sound. You simply plug your headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the side panel of the Q8n-4K. So you can check to make sure the sound is clear and without distortion

The Q8n-4K not only stores footage to microSD cards, but can also function as a USB device. It functions as a cool webcam but also as a capable audio interface.

Powering this recorder will not be a problem. You can use it with the included rechargeable Li-ion battery, but also via USB or via an optional mains adapter. If handheld recording isn't your style, you can mount the recorder to a tripod or gimbal using the 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom of the body.
