Diffractive Optics Technology
This 800mm, like its 600mm sibling, uses Canon's Diffractive Optics (DO) technology which is what allows this lens to comparatively lightweight and condensed and able to control chromatic aberrations. The advanced optical advantage of this lens and the RF mount's faster communication between lens and camera makes this an affordable step into super-telephoto lenses.
4-Stop Image Stabiliser
The Canon RF 800mm F11 IS STM lens features an image stabiliser providing up to 4-stops of compensation. Combining this feature and Canon's high-speed RF communication allows you to use longer shutter speeds and exposures. It allows you to capture super-sharp images and video footage all whilst using the camera and lens handheld.
