Versatile Dual-Camera System

The DJI Air 3S has a powerful dual-camera system for capturing high-quality images, whether you’re shooting landscapes, portraits, or anything in between. The upgraded 50MP 1-inch CMOS primary wide-angle camera’s larger sensor and f1.8 24mm lens supports 4K/60fps HDR and 4K/120fps video recording, 10-bit D-Log colour mode, and up to 14 stops of dynamic range for capturing detailed images even in low light conditions. The medium telephoto camera with a 48MP 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor offers the same video specs and colour modes to ensure visual consistency. This camera has the bonus of a 70mm lens with 3x optical zoom to ensure you can capture shots from a distance and get stunning close-ups.

Both cameras also support Free Panorama mode, which lets you create seamless panoramic shots by stitching together multiple images with a manually selected subject or area. The wide-angle camera excels in this area by offering a wider FOV for improved efficiency. It reduces distortion for expansive shots with an impressively wide perspective. To achieve more creative effects with ease, the DJI Air 3S supports 2.7K vertical shooting, MasterShots, QuickShots, Hyperlapse, and more.

Enhanced Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing

For safer nighttime flying, the DJI Air 3S supports the Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS). The Air 3S is the first DJI drone to incorporate forward-facing LiDAR, with downward infrared time-of-flight (ToF) sensors and six vision sensors (two at the front, rear, and bottom) for nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing. With this upgraded sensing system, the drone can identify and avoid obstacles while flying, enabling it to navigate up and around obstacles, such as high-rise buildings, for improved safety during flights and returns. Next-Gen Smart RTH on the DJI Air 3S also ensures safer flights with real-time vision positioning and map construction technologies, memorising flight paths when it has optimal lighting for later use. This technology is beneficial when taking off from locations without satellite.

Other improvements for flight control include Vision Assist, which provides a downward view alongside front, back, left, and right views to understand your surroundings better while shooting. There are also features such as Waypoint Flight and Cruise Control to pre-set flight paths, camera actions and lock control sticks for stress-free flights.

Focus On Your Subject

With ActiveTrack 360°, improved tracking, and a new Subject Focusing feature, DJI Air 3S ensures your subject remains the centre of attention. With ActiveTrack 360°, the DJI Air 3S keeps your subject in the frame by automatically planning a flight path and adjusting framing for optimal results. Upgraded tracking performance ensures that once tracking begins, your subject will remain in focus even if they are partially obscured.

A new Subject Focusing feature is introduced on the DJI Air 3S to keep your subject in sharp focus during manual flights or when they move, allowing you to focus on composition rather than constantly double-checking if your shot is in focus. With the DJI Air 3S, you can capture your subject in stunning clarity.

Optimised For An Improved Shooting Experience

The DJI Air 3S also has a host of features to ensure a seamless and exciting shooting experience. Thanks to DJI O4 video transmission technology, it’s capable of 10-bit video transmission at 1080p/60fps over distances of up to 10km in the UK. This ensures stable, vivid live feeds with responsive control. The DJI Air 3S comes with a standard DJI RC-N3 controller. With this controller, you can use your smartphone to check the live feed and flight status of your drone.

With a 45-minute maximum flight time, you can take plenty of shots, try various compositions, and get everything you need without worrying about your drone’s battery. When you’re done shooting with the DJI Air 3S you can now send files to your smartphone or computer even when the drone is off via QuickTransfers. To transfer files to your computer, you will need a compatible USB cable.

Know the rules!

The UK’s drone rules are based on the risk of the flight—where you fly, the proximity to other people, and the size and weight of your drone. Any drone with a camera, regardless of weight, will require an Operator ID. However, an additional Flyer ID is required for drones weighing 250g and over. Other qualifications are still needed for commercial drone use, and even then, this doesn't mean you can fly your drone anywhere. Ensure you know the rules and consult the Drone Code before you fly; if you want to fly commercially, you must take the PfCO CAA exam (Permission for Commercial Operations).
