Aim

The A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) is the entry-level qualification and allows an operator to fly their drone in the A2 category (Close to People).

Who should attend?

Pilots that want to fly their C2 class aircraft in areas used for recreational, industrial, residential and commercial purposes. Specifically, you will need this qualification if your aircraft is between 500g and 2kg (maintain a 50m separation from uninvolved people, fly 150m away from congested areas and do not overfly uninvolved people).

Course length

This is a one-day course that culminates in an examination.

This course gives you the extra knowledge required by the CAA to operate in the A2 category. Three modules will be taught covering:

• Meteorology
• RPAS Flight Performance
• RPAS Operating Principles
