Digital Fine Zoom extends your reach to 6000mm (35mm equivalent) to get even closer.

The Coolpix P1100’s bright f2.8-8 Nikkor lens and 16MP sensor ensure sharp images, whether shooting in the daytime or nighttime. Nikon’s Vibration Reduction compensation minimises the effects of camera shake to keep your photos and videos steady, even when using the camera handheld at telephoto lengths. Nikon’s Dual Detect Optical Vibration Reduction system allows you to shoot up to five stops lower, minimising the effects of camera shake in low light situations and preventing under-exposure. A VR Active mode ensures a more stable viewfinder and monitor image when shooting on the move.

Capture creative 4K UHD video

With the Coolpix P1100, you can record sharp 4K UHD (30p) footage or smooth Full HD (1080p) video up to 60p. The camera’s HDMI output allows for optional real-time monitoring on an external display, helping with precise framing and composition. A built-in microphone jack supports external microphones for clear, well-defined audio to complement your visuals.

For creative video projects, in-camera movie functions like Superlapse enable fast-motion sequences for capturing shifting landscapes and changing environments. Meanwhile, the Time-lapse mode is perfect for documenting the movement of stars, cloud formations, or the moon’s journey across the sky.

Access built-in shooting modes

The Nikon Coolpix P1100 has a range of built-in shooting modes to support your creativity and allow you to choose settings tailored to your shooting scenario. These include Moon mode, Bird Watching mode, Bulb and Time shooting modes, and Multiple Exposure. Bird Watching mode now has a selectable AF area mode, an upgrade from the Coolpix P1000, which only had a framing border. The camera’s high-resolution electronic viewfinder and versatile vari-angle monitor let you achieve precise framing and composition. The ultra-high-definition (approx. 2,360k-dot) electronic viewfinder provides a clear, detailed view of your scene, even in bright lighting conditions, for accuracy in every shot. The bright 3.2-inch, 921k-dot LCD monitor tilts and rotates for greater flexibility, allowing for comfortable shooting from various angles. Whether capturing images from high above, low to the ground, or unconventional perspectives, the adjustable display makes it easy to find the right composition. For smooth transitions between the monitor and the EVF, an intelligent eye sensor automatically switches between them when you raise the camera to your eye.

Get better control with upgraded hardware

Borrowing its large grip and well-positioned controls from the Coolpix P1000, the Coolpix P1100 features improved handling for a user-friendly design. A new control ring on the Coolpix P1100 offers precise adjustment for manual focusing. In AF mode, you can assign exposure compensation, white balance, or ISO sensitivity to that control ring instead to suit your shooting. A snap-back zoom and side zoom control button offer comfort and smooth control when capturing or tracking your subject. A new focus mode selector allows you to switch focus mode while holding the camera, which is relatively lightweight to support handheld shooting.
