If you love the portability and ease of use of a TTL flashgun, but desire more effective, filling light without the hassle of a studio kit, then Profoto's B2 off camera flash system is a solution worthy of your consideration. Only 10cm round and deep, the B2 is powered by an external battery pack, and the system is light and slight enough to carry with you. Red-carpet, wedding, event and on-location photographers will love the flexibility and power offered by the B2: It will revolutionise both your work, and the way you work. The To-Go Kit contains a B2 head, the B2 250 AirTTL power pack with carry-bag, battery and charger, plus the location bag.
Profoto B2 250 AirTTL To-Go Kit
The B2 is a lighter, more portable counterpart to the B1. The B2 system consists of a battery pack and a head. The battery pack can be put on the shoulder or hip, while the head is small and light enough to be mounted onto a monopod or a bracket on the camera. This will allow the photographer to stay moving. If that is not necessary, both the pack and head can be put on a stand and the B2 can be wirelessly controlled from the camera. This makes the B2 the world’s first off-camera flash that can be used both on and off-camera.
In addition, the B2 has all the benefits that made the B1 an outstanding success. It has TTL. It has HSS. It is fast enough to keep up with your camera and five times as powerful as the average speedlight. It can be used with the entire range of Profoto Light Shaping Tools. All this in a head with the same size and weight as a speedlight.
With TTL. On or Off-Camera.
To shoot with the B2 is to shoot with all options at hand. Put the head on a bracket on your camera, the pack on your belt and stay moving. Hold the lightweight head off-hand to light the shot obliquely, or hand the B2 off to your assistant. Or put everything on a stand and use it like a studio head: It’s your choice.
Shoot with TTL, or shoot in Hybrid Mode and switch from TTL to manual control with the settings intact. Use it as a subtle fill light, or crank up the power and take full control of the ambient light.
Connect one or two flash heads. Use only the B2. Or sync it with one or B1 Off-Camera Flashes. Shoot with a bare head. Or choose from the widest assortment of light-shaping tools available and shape the B2’s already beautiful light into any light you can imagine.
The B2 power pack weighs in at only 1.6kg, is comfortably worn on-belt or over the shoulder, features 2 asymmetrical outlets and packs enough oomph for 215 full-power flashes. Need extra power? No problem: Spare batteries weigh 400g apiece, are small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and fully charge in just one hour. Meanwhile, the head itself weighs in at only 700g: Light enough to mount on camera and easy to carry in your off-hand or be comfortably managed by an assistant.
Simple to operate, with uncluttered controls and clearly illuminated displays. TTL functionality is as seamless as operating a speedlight, while the manual controls allow you to bias individual light output and tune the flash and modelling light to your exacting standards. The B2 head and accessories are ergonomically designed, easy to handle and quick to assemble – even in dark conditions. Walk into an event with your kit-bag and you can be up, shooting, and getting great results with the B2 in two minutes. Try doing that with a studio rig!
250 Watt seconds of power, adjustable over 9 f-stops, a recycling time of 0.03 to 1.35 seconds, burst mode, 50 Watt-equivalent LED modelling light and a Guide number of 32 when used with a reflector. That’s a specification which many studio lights would envy, yet the B2 fits into the palm of your hand.
Profoto’s name was made in studio lighting, and their kit is tried and tested by professionals – day in, day out. The B2 builds on the Profoto name and experience: It’s a professional product and won’t let you down.
Use up to three heads at once via TTL and individually tune the output of each to meet your needs. Or use the Air Remote instead without TTL and run more lights over eight channels. Mount on a bracket or a stand. Run two heads per battery pack or one head per pack. Use one of the four softboxes, the snoot, grids or barndoors developed expressly for the B2, or fit your own choice of light modifier – it’s all up to you! The B2 puts the power of creativity in your hands.
B2 heads have built-in TTL capabilities: Simply fit the AirTTL-C or AirTTL-N controller (sold separately) to your hotshoe and use the B2 as you would a TTL speedlight. It’s that simple! Alternatively, you can use the Air Remote to trigger and control your B2 units without using TTL functionality.

Since its release in 2013, the Profoto B1 Off-Camera Flash has taken the photographic community by storm. Combining the portability and ease-of-use of a speedlight with the performance of a professional monolight, the B1 is considered by many to be a game changer in the industry. Now Profoto is moving forward by releasing an entire new system of compact off-camera flashes and Light Shaping Tools, designed for fast and easy on-location photography.
The Profoto Off-Camera Flash system also includes the new OCF Light Shaping Tools. The OCF Light Shaping Tools are smaller and more lightweight. They also consist of fewer parts and use smart, patent-pending solutions that make them fast and easy to mount and use. The assortment includes four new softboxes, a new grid kit, a new snoot and a new barndoor. Included in the Off-Camera Flash system is also the renowned B1 and the patented AirTTL system. Everything works with everything.
"Our ambition when we first started designing the Profoto Off-Camera Flash system was to create a solution that pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved on a fast and hectic on-location shoot," says Product Manager Johan Wiberg. "We closely observed the needs of wedding and portrait photographers and decided to try to make their jobs a little easier. Now, looking at what we are offering, I dare say we’ve succeeded."

Can I repay early? If so how?
No repayments are scheduled in the initial six-month deferral period. However, it is possible to pay off the loan, either by way of a lump sum or in smaller amounts. If the loan is fully repaid within the six-month deferral period, then no interest is payable, but a £29.00 early-settlement will be incurred. Such repayments may be made to Barclays Partner Finance by cheque, debit card or standing order. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a direct debit within the deferral period. Further information on how to make such repayments will be set out in the loan agreement pack provided by Barclays Partner Finance.
What happens if I don't repay within the first six months (deferral period)?
Following the six month deferral period, Barclays Partner Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan. Interest will be charged at a rate of 19.9% APR on outstanding balances (backdated to the first date of the loan). Late payment penalties and early repayment charges will apply from this point. Barclays Partner Finance will send a reminder letter approximately one month before the six month deferral period is due to elapse. Note: If you chose to spread the cost and pay monthly, interest is charged from the start of the loan, not from the start of the repayment period.
What will I receive from the finance provider (lender)?
Barclays Partner Finance will send a loan agreement pack approximately four weeks after delivery of the goods, confirming that the account has been activated and, from this point, it is possible to make repayments against the loan.
